I think there are lots of possibilities around that. This is the one we're trying.
Labs is still doing research and selling reports to Photobucket et al, but they don't have time to do posts anymore. The research is pretty interesting though - maybe I should write some of it up as posts. Like, we first knew Imeem was getting big because Mashable Labs saw it growing in MySpace. I get reports from them every week on the state of MySpace widgets.
I'm sure you guys will find an elegant way to integrate this into Mashable.
