  • apenny · 2 years ago
i don't know.... just looked at a random blog and it seemed fine. Playboy Radio .. http://tinyurl.com/273ffg
  • Pete · 2 years ago
Odd. Go technorati it and you'll find 100% of results are missing the i. Where'd you dig that one up from?
  • Todd · 2 years ago
I just tested it out and as you can see from my Myspace blog post below. The only "i" that shows up is the "i" used in the title of the post. I guess the peeps at Helio have iPhone envy! http://compare.helio.com/

Love how Helio TRIES to say, with there comparison chart, the Helio "Ocean", is somehow better then an "iPhone"... lol, Most of what they say they have and the iPhone doesn't is merely a software Update or iPhone App away.... Sorry Helio, you will never be APPLE :P Thanks for trying though :) -S
  • o rly · 2 years ago
I agree Shawn, because a GPS radio, a physical keyboard, 3G via EV-DO, a removable battery, and a video camera with flash are all possible by a software update or iPhone webapp...
  • Shawn · 2 years ago
You work for Helio? Wait, are you the one that had the letter "i" blocked ... :P

My point, simply put... Helio cleverly put together a chart focusing on the "Ocean's" strengths. What they failed to include within that chart was...

    - iPhones 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display with 480-by-320-pixel resolution at 160 dpi Vs Ocean's 2.4 inch QVGA display, 240 x 320, 260K colors

    - iPhones 4GB or 8GB flash drive Vs Ocean's 200MB internal memory.. It's no wonder it's cheaper out of the box...

    - iPhone has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) does Helio?

    - iPhone is a wide Screen Video iPod harnessing the huge vast library of content known as "your iTunes"...

    - iPhone has 8 hrs of talk time Vs Ocean's 5.1 hrs... 24 hrs of Music playback Vs Ocean's 15 hrs.

    - iPhone's Revolutionary touch screen interface Vs Helios pop-out keyboard...

Honestly, I could go on and on but I think you get my point ;) Oh, why didn't apple compare it's iPhone to Helio's Ocean on there site?

Actually Shawn, you probably could go on, but even then you would fail to address the points made above.

First it was: "Most of what they say they have and the iPhone doesn't is merely a software Update or iPhone App away"

now it's "My point, simply put... Helio cleverly put together a chart focusing on the "Ocean's" strengths."

Which advertising campaign focuses on their weaknesses? Even Apple's iPhone chart was miscued when compared to real smartphones and left out a fair amount of things that the iPhone doesn't have, but that's how marketing and advertising works.

Now tell me, which one of these is an "Apple Software Update?" The GPS radio, the physical keyboard, the 3G via EV-DO, the removable battery, or the video camera with flash?

lol @ "Revolutionary touch screen interface," RDF in full effect.

btw, they don't even have Helio in my country, so I don't own one and never will.

This blog is not brought to you by the letter "I"
  • bunnyhero · 2 years ago
hmmm. might be fixed now? i just made a blog post and it seems to be ok.

    http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bl...
  • Pete · 2 years ago
It is fixed for those written after a certain time (an hour or so ago), but the i's are still missing from all those blogs that I linked to - probably a few million posts affected. Gonna go dig up some examples for the naysayers.

i just tried some words and waiting for aproval by my space
  • Will · 2 years ago
I wonder if this is actually related to MySpace's blockage of embedded imeem music files and playlists. For months the word "imeem" was being replaced with ".." Perhaps this was just a bug from a regular expression gone awry?

    Myspace blocks...

    that always the case.

cant wait to read the myspace blocks myspace so we can all move on.
  • Thomas Taber & Drazen · 2 years ago
    definitely a RegEx gone awry
  • judesarmy · 2 years ago
    It's been fixed.
  • revilo · 2 years ago
Wow.. WTF are they doing.. isn't Myspace all about the ego. it seems that they just can't get out of their own way these days.. GO FACEBOOK and whatever else fills the void..
  • don synstelien · 2 years ago
I always likes the letter "T" better anyway... but only when in caps.

Those lower case letters are no fun.

    As stated on Digg...

    "Dugg for WTFness"

This is just funny. MySpace is really full of fail.

Myspace is a disgrace to web 2.0
  • This is wrong · 2 years ago
    This is bullshit. WRONG.
  • Pete · 2 years ago
No, this is factually correct. Check any of the linked blogs and you will see this is the case. MySpace has now been alerted and removed the bug for current postings, but the linked posts (and all posts written during that time period) are missing their i's.
  • Pete · 2 years ago
Here's a discussion of the problem. Turns out it affected all of MySpace, not just blogs:

    @M! ROTFL

First of all why were you on myspace? Secondly maybe it is their official anti iPhone stance.

Maybe it's a knee-jerk reaction to the overuse of iThis and iThat. I, for one, and nauseated by all of it.

Probably a regular expression gone awry. I noticed a long time ago that Myspace's blog and bulletin board postings were censored -- I tried to post an article critical of Rupert Murdoch on the site, and it would never show up in my blog/bulleting board. I translated the article into "leet-speak", which replaces a lot of letters with numbers. The article would show up then.

That was when I decided to delete my Myspace account...I don't really like the idea of censorship, especially when users don't realize that it's happening...

Anyway, I would suggest trying it if you don't believe me. Write "Rupert Murdoch sucks" or something on your bulletin board, and watch it not show up. Then write "Rup3r7 and Murd0ch sucks" and watch that post show up...
  • BeyondWWW · 2 years ago
@ Reid you are so right censorship in a social Network sucks. Isnt it a place where people are given the right to choose what they want to have and who they want to be friends with and they have the right to be what they want to be and can write their wishes and live their virtual fantasy on the Internet.
