The product is free, has a simple and intuitive user interface, but a back-end with serious grunt. You can save text, tag it, add notes, and it is all easily searchable later on. I couldn't live without it!

Re: 17 Noteworthy Alternatives To Google Notebook

I am using a new service called Ibrii.com it is still a beta but it works fine.
http://www.ibrii.com

What do you think?

Re: 17 Noteworthy Alternatives To Google Notebook

Check out NoteScribe, a note taking software for school, business, and home.

It contains a source and bibliography generator, a calendar for creating events
and reminders (sent through text and email), convenient sharing options,
the ability to print directly from the program, and you can attach files such
as images, video, and audio to supplement your notes. But I appreciate that a rather long list of tools is proposed. I suppose that Ubernote and Zoho Note books are the most powerful in the list.
During the last years I am collecting info about different Web research (online research, Web clipping, note taking etc) tools and testing them. I have used about 10 differeent tools and I recommend them to my students.
You can find info in my blog http://zigmasb.wordpress.com

Re: 17 Noteworthy Alternatives To Google Notebook

I am amazed that DIIGO (www.diigo.com) is not on this list. Journler lets you print to PDF, save as a PDF, set up GTD folders, has a calendar, all sorts of handy tools. Oh, and it has a video and audio notes option as well. No ability to post to your blog via Journler unfortunately, but I do still think it's an excellent program and well thought out. A license is 34.95 and is currently only available for Macs (both Tiger and Leopard)

Re: 17 Noteworthy Alternatives To Google Notebook

Hehe, I actually missed the first paragraph when I scanned this the first time too, and had the same "Where's Evernote?" reaction.

I had pretty much already decided to switch from Notebook to Evernote before the Google announcement that they were stopping development. I'd tried out Evernote and liked it. The iPhone app is great.

I've tried Backpack as well, and I do think that one is a real omission. I don't use it much for notetaking, but I do still set reminders there occasionally. It's a great service. I think the iPhone app is what swayed me to Evernote, if Backpack had something as slick I would possibly reconsider.

Re: 17 Noteworthy Alternatives To Google Notebook

since i only used google notebook for web clipping, I have been trying webnotes. Since I had it mentioned there I felt it was overkill to also put it in the actual body.
