This is a stunning idea that really needs to take off. The applications for it, in my view go beyond "mobile youtube". Surely this would be an excellent platform for mobile blogging. And surely smartphones are the ideal way to blog on the go. See something cool, take a photo, upload it to your blog.

this thing is ridiculous. why would i blindly install a java app on my phone if i got an sms from someone else and even if i took that leap, what can i do once i have it.

Skyler - some phones already come equipped with Java capabilities. I have a Motorola RAZR, and it uses Java for games.
