    Joost is available all over the world...other sites like hulu are not. Although Joost is not the answer to all our video watching needs, it is one of the best options for expats living in...for example, Germany. So it's good to see it getting better as there aren't very many options out here without paying an arm and a leg.

    ok Adam. your title rocked. and i do think that Joost may be remembered as the first true failure from the guys that brought up kazza, WMC codec pack (well. more like the facilitators) and of course skype. lets forget about hulu. they are competing with things like dnastream, babegum and to a certain degree Adobe Media Player, Miro, livestation and soon enough Odeo Player (based on fireant 2.0). they got so much competition on their level alone that they have all odds against them.

    Then there is also the thing that they have taken in 54 million in funding without showing any results...

    Glad you liked the title. From a technical standpoint I guess you are right that those would be competitors, but for me, it really comes down to the content, and Joost's just isn't very compelling ...
