Going with a TLD other than .com in order to correctly spell a word won't do- anything that's not a .com or .org looks like a spam or fishing site.

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

zoomr
/
zooomr - zoomer
\
zooomer

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

I personally hate it when these web 2.0 companies purposefully misspell words. It makes my blood boil. Grammar is important to me and when I see companies follow the bandwagon and conform to this weird naming standard I just want to cry. T_T

Yep... that pretty much sums my thoughts up. =/

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

good article ...
guess we'll have to do without the e's for a while ... hehe

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

Manipulating the spelling of domains seems to be the natural evolution of the net. With something like 95,000,000 domains already registered and registrars like GoDaddy.com aggressively marketing domain name flipping, it's no wonder startups are dropping vowels and adding consonants.

This is probably just the start of crazier things to come. Once every "single word" misspelling is registered, people will likely be forced to start misspelling "two word" combinations. Can you image...diggThatt.com...noww that suckks.

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

Wait... is Mashable an English word?!?

How about http://Gruvr.com?

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

Wait... is Mashable an English word?!?

How about Gruvr.com?

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

My VC friend would like to fund your last name to the tune of $50 million.

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

for that reason we register www.brabblr.de and www.brabbler.de :-)

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

Thanks for mentioning Profilactic. You should do more of these!! There's got to be a ton!

And while not in the "correctly spelled words" topic, the use of one domain that puzzles me is zune.com. A 404 on a page that I'm sure it's getting tons of hits a day. I mean, if we think that people who park domain names with affiliated links could do much better, how about that one??

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

the idiots who own flicker "supposedly" turned down $600,000.

if thats true theyre morons.

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

Or worse if they had an "r" instead like mashablr.com - yeech!

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

You spelled something wrong under the tumblr/tumbler section- shaterproof has two ts- shatterproof.

Re: Flickr Has an “e” in it…Web 2.0 Spelling CORRECTED

If mashable had no "e" at the end, I would never read it.
