I already noticed this a few days back.

Well, the crack doesn't work. Didn't for me and several others I know. Did you try it yourself?

I've also seen this happen in picture comments. My wife was looking at someone's pictures. When she clicked on the thumbnail to view the larger version, it instantly went to a gay porn pic. She asked me to figure it out. I had her right-click and save the target link to file. I scoured it and found a SWF hosted on PhotoBucket that was used as a picture comment. Of course the person who the picture belonged to didn't know how to fix it. In this case, it's simple: Delete the picture containing the comment.

As far as this problem, I haven't seen it yet, so I can't comment on what to do about it. The simplest thing is for PhotoBucket to drop the files.

Just another reason why I quit using that stupid service called MySpace.

Sounds like the swf was used to execute javascript on the page? If this is the case, is there even a workaround that myspace could use? I remember a while ago someone managed to execute Javascript through a CSS file that made everyone his friend who viewed his profile, and everyone who visited their profile, etc.

What's that? MySpace coding is a bunch of dodgy hacks that were never fixed after they originally launched, but rather were built on, thus maintaining an extremely unstable base?

Well, looks like they didn't read any textbooks on where + when to use hacks and why you need to fix them after you've got things up and running, AND that the longer you leave them the worse things become...

I don't really expect anything good to come of MySpace - it's been poorly constructed at the front and back end from the start, and definitely *not* worth the half billion US that Uncle Rupert paid for it.

I am receiving this error each time i try to log in: Invalid Friend ID.
This user has either cancelled their membership, or their account has been deleted. i never deleted my membership, so what is going on? I never had anything on my page that would have jepordized that, and i was just on last night and it was working fine. i emailed myspace but no one is getting back to me!! what can be wrong?

I know, The same thing has been happening to me.
It wont let me login to any of my accounts. It just says too many failed logins, or "You must be logged into to do that!" This has been happening for three days now! I have friends that I need to talk to on there, but I can't because myspace has all this crap going on.

My MySpace profile looks fine, but my thumbnail photo next to comments I post and also the thumbnail photo of me on other people's "view my friends" site displays a photo of someone else. It lists my name, but it's the wrong photo of some stranger I don't even know. When you click on that photo, it takes you back to my profile, which seems to be okay. I've written MySpace about 3 times since it happened about a week ago, but no reply. Any suggestions?

I have a firewall that tells me if anything is being d/l when Im on any site. Never had anything d/l from MYspace. I had the prob last week that My space had been deleted, i was logged in and it was fine hit my "home button" to return and it had disapearred. Didnt bother me, if you have edited your page just copy and paste your info in the "about me" sections etc, and save it to WORD or something. Its easy to re-create your page, and who really gives a hoot. Its only Myspace.
Oh, I wrote to them too and never heard back, thats a first tho for me. Guess they had a aLOT of emails bout it.

THIS IS LONG BUT YOU MUST READ IT.
To my friends... please pass this on when you are done reading.

There has not been a power outage at MySpace Data Centers (they are avoiding telling us the truth)... but there may indeed be some database problems because MySpace is being Hacked hardcore.

I've been seeing a lot of bulletins supposedly posted by my friends that I KNOW my friends would not send.. and those of you who have had it happen to your account know what I mean.

IF YOU SEE a bulletin from a friend that says "Check out this link" or "Look at this video" anything like that... BE CAREFUL. Your friend might not have sent it. If you click on the link in the bulletin and a page comes up that looks like the MySpace login screen. Don't assume that "Oh crap.. I guess I have to log in again". Look up at the address in the address field at the top of your browser (you know.. where you type them in). If it does not say MySpace.com or bulletin.myspace.com then DO NOT put in your email login and password.

What is happening is this... a hacker has mirrored the MySpace login page by duplicating it in every detail... which means he has Web design skills. Then he/she hosts it on a fake server somewhere... maybe at home... or stealing space from one somewhere else. When you enter in your login and password again.. it is being saved straight to the hacker's database or server. All they have to do is get a few real users (your friends) info... and then it starts a chain reaction.

Many of you use your same email and password info on other sites.. maybe even for online banking.... if you think you have accidentally logged into one of the fake MySpace pages... go change your password everywhere you use it... !

If you don't believe me.. ask some of your friends that you thought were sending out stupid bulletins with links to porno sites or links to things that weren't even there... and I'll bet they will set you straight.

Ever since that power outage my band page had been messed up...
ANyone else having this problem... i can' t read my mail inbox, none of the comments i post show up. My friend counter will not exceed 9490, even though i add like 15 people a day, the number goes up and them goes back down... and my page and player counter is not working... is anyone else having these issues....

why on earth do people always ask about "hacking myspace" yeah right u need to gain access to your own account right?
yeahh we believe you.
Learning to "hack" takes a long time and is ILLEGAL.
and nobody who can genuinely do it in their right minds would post it on a forum whats has taken them months if not years to learn.
So cut the crap about it, you havent forgotten your email or password, if you have then your just a bit ridiculous arent you, make a new account and forget about it. If you'd just like to read your boyfriend/girlfriends messages, my advice is, get rid of the loser if you cant trust them!!

After you click on a link in a bulletin, if a MySpace login screen comes up, and the address bar says "profile.myspace", DO NOT re-enter your e-mail and password. As a test, I typed in a phony e-mail+password and it still led my to another website. If your e-mail+password was needed to continue on myspace, then the wrong e-mail+password would not let you continue.

If you've been a victim of phony bulletins, like I have, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!

Since myspace is owned by News Corp which also owns fox broadcasting

I havent been able to get on myspace in 10 days (yes I am keeping track). I have absolutly no idea what happend, I typed everything in correctly and tryed sending my password to my email and it said the email didnt exist. So now I'm thinking oh I must've been hacked or deleted, but then I type in my url(www.myspace.com/lalalithium) and everything is still there and the login date was the last time I was online, and I deleted temporary internet file and cookies,nothing works. I hate myspace. I used to love it..now I hate it.
Now its been 36 hours and they still havent fixed the problem....and as others say they dont answer their emails very well just stock stupid answers that are always totally useless.
Here are some observations about Myspace and its head honchos:

1. They just wanna make money
2. Incrase the quantitiy
who carea about quality?
3. Sell it and make money.
4. Cut corners and have a poorly built site that is weak in a lot of areas.
5. Dint give a damn about the people who register.
6. Pretend you give a dam about the people who register by publshing silly little booklests like..."tips for parents on letting your Teen use the internet" all such other useless tripe
7. Create a sidte that has no moderator and moderates it self...thereby allowing pervs and scum to flourish in every crack of the system.
8. put in very fine print and maybe not even mention too clearly that whatever you post...pic, poem, blog, comment can and will be recorded for all time and will be at the total disposal of Mysapce to do with what they want.
9. Real mission statement: Become an online dating service.
10. If we were smart we would delete our accounts and then Mysapce wouldnt exist anymore. They forget it seemes that they are nothing without

i hear your pain man, last year in school i had the same problem...

you need to use a site that will change your ip so that the school servers cant recognize the site myspace.com.

i suggest going to google and typing "phproxy". this should lead you to tons of sites that provide free proxy so that you can view myspace. some of them may be annoying to use, but stick with it. youre welcome.

Simple truth is that Myspace is a badly coded..predator friendly/spam/idiot friendly website just ripe for the picking.. ive known numerous people who have been silly and gullible enough to click on those dumb ringtone ads and they have had their account details stolen...!Answer:=dont click on half the crap you see in myspace!!!! its mostly spyware anyway..especially all the flash ads at the top of the pages... the concept of myspace is great but its poorly manged and run and i can see the authorities closing it down eventually.
Pity really because it really did have great potential befor the almighty $$ took over and ruined it

My page got hacked in the early days, but I was lucky enough to realize soon enough to change my password before the bot did. Giving control back minus all my profile settings and html.

The hack is a redirection page, resembling the myspace login page.
You have to check the address every time you login, if its not "http://www.myspace.com/" don't login.
You have to remember to always check!
Look for telltale signs like been asked to login when you already done so, links friends send that "redirect" you to the login page.

So many of my friends have lost their accounts, which in turn spam other accounts.
I have never seen it this bad.
