4) Never had a problem with this. As others have said, it's not GMail, it's HTML... I'd rather have this than Flash/Java.

You should check Flickr's uploader, nifty, simple. No need to create a full screen view like flickr, but multiple uploads make sense.

Progress bar when uploading a file. It's annoying not knowing what is happening. It would be good also that Gmail tells you messages like "The file is too large" BEFORE trying to upload it.

Google has created Gmail apps for some mobile phones.

I am running the GMail application written for Blackberry and it is quite wonderful on my Blackberry 8100/Pearl.

Really, really good stuff.

I POP all of my Gmail and I find it quite annoying that I can only download 200-300 messages during one POP session. I subscribe to many newsletters and newsgroups and get upwards of 500-1000 emails daily on certain accounts. It's quite annoying having to hit the send/receive button 5 times to pull all of my messages.

Also, the POP downloading seems to be rather slow. Again, when downloading 200 messages at a time, I'd really like to be able to download them much faster. Normal messages without attachments take me roughly 3 minutes to download.

Great list. I'd also like to see:

1. Facility for "Web 2.0"-style tagging of messages/threads with optional sidebar tag cloud.

2. Advanced, highly customisable, menu-driven message search and selection options that would allow me, for example, to search for (and automatically select) all messages that meet **any combination** of a wide range of criteria, including:

- messages with specific labels/tags (or, indeed, unlabelled)

- messages containing (or not containing) specific keywords

- messages sent/received within a specified date range

- messages sent (or not sent) to/from specific people/organisations

3. Integration with Google Reader (as other comments have mentioned).

Email tags (as a new field like subject, receiver...)

Sometimes a fellow tells you: "This night I'll send you the last version of the customers list!" and, of course, when you look at your mailbox at night you will see an email like this:

Subject: Here it is!
Body:
Attachment: adressesadded.doc

When, two months later, you want to find this file, it's almost impossible. You'll search "customer", "list", "contacts", etc. with no result.

Another example would be:

Subject: Look at this!
Body: It's great! [link to youtube]

I often receive these kind of poorly-filled emails, and to prevent that problem I must do a reply to myself adding "customer list doc contacts addresses", or "video dancing bears" to the body. I would like to be able to add some tags to the email for further searching instead of have to replying it.

I really enjoy using GMail.
I'd like a way to delete all mail marked "Spam", without having to look at it.

Every day, I switch to the "Spam" folder, to delete all mail in it manually.
During this process, I usually see a Spam subject header that says, "Do you want a bigger penis?"
Now, coming across this message once in a while is Ok.

But I'm exposed to it for a few seconds every day, which is a significant portion of my life.
I am afraid that daily repeated exposure to this message will harm me psychologically.
In fact, I might already have developed feelings of inadequacy, due to this subliminal toxin, and not even know it.

I would like to see more features in the contact list, such as synchronize with Outlook (or any other address book of your choice), integration with YouTube, field mapping when importing into GMail. Also I would like to see the "View recent conversations" link under the "Reply" menu.

Otherwise, I'm a loyal GMail fan!

Regarding #5 (View Message from Inbox), you can press shift and click on an email, and it will open in a new window (that with Tab Mix Plus (FF Extension) makes it open a new tab :) )

The others are very true. Also I would like to see (and I have already sent this suggestion to the GMail Team) is the ability to 'move' accounts. So for example I have mypersonalemail@gmail.com and I move to myname@mycompany.com (using Google Apps of course) or just another regular GMail account, I could move all my contacts and emails to the new account. I've recently switched to my company's Google Apps GMail account and what I'm doing is forwarding my emails to my personal GMail account and set up a 'send as' for my company's email in my personal account.

Just waiting for change. But I'm really excited!
