your criticisms are definitely spot-on. note that bunnyhero labs was originally not conceived as a widget site-- it started out as a place for me to experiment with stuff (hence the "labs"), but the adoptable pets became surprisingly popular, first on livejournal, then xanga, and now myspace. that's why the site's organization is a bit odd. i think i might like to give the pets a domain of their own, but bunnyheropets.com is taken. i'll think of something.... in the meantime, i should give the home page a makeover as you suggested.
and yes, it still is a one-man show. i haven't been giving enough time to developing new content recently (i was very busy all of november with something totally unrelated). and pete cashmore's answer to jordan mitchell's question is correct :)
