Guba is a joke. Talk about a company with an identity crisis. First they are a p0rn site, skimming p0rn off of news groups. Then they drop the p0rn, spinning it off into skinvideo. Their traffic drops like a rock. So they try to do deals with hollywood, sellng has-been movies, and no one could care less. Now they are trying to entice users with a whopping 25 cents, all while telling the world that they are for sale to anyone stupid enough to pick up this monstrocity. What a joke! This is what happens when people with no clue about business try to build companies.

Long term, you are right. Short term, it could be a smart tactic to get more visibility in a very crowded space. Affiliate marketing is always cheaper than TV commercials! I believe that TagWorld used a similar strategy to initiate the build-up of its community. Once the member base has reached a critical volume (so that it is really a community with interactions) Guba should and will drop the offer. Of course, it should not become the long term differentiator and only reason to join Guba, or they are in deep trouble. In the meantime, good luck for them to go after cheaters! Paying only for active members (members who upload a video) would solve a part of the problem.
