Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2008/05/11/mothers-day-blogging/

This is a very nice post. I would like to note, though, that there are some amazing Web 2.0 moms who do so much more than share baby pictures. There are mom SEO experts, mom social networking experts, moms who offer entrepreneurial advice, and moms who are total politicos.

It is true we moms have become quite a sociaizing force, but do remember we are much more than just moms who want to show off pictures and gush about our kids.

I can't agree more with your comments. Many of us may be mothers, and 'mothering' may indeed be a mojor pre-occupation HOWEVER, let's not dismiss the other achievements that women make.
They are successful in/all over the internet, and in growing numbers.

    Kelby, martha,

Absolutely. But since this is Mother's Day, it's the mothering part of the female equation that is the primary focus, as I'm sure you'll agree.

Moms have been networking online ever since the 1990s - I'm still an active member of the Febmoms group that came together back in 1995 when we were all carrying our febkids. We've been emailing each now for 13 years.

The Internet is great for moms and dads!

    Happy Mother's Day,

Moms/women are social so it makes sense we would be online. I hope we see more women founded and led companies in the space. Right now I enjoy blogging and twitter. I spend a little time on facebook and on a few other social sites.

Happy Mother's Day (past) and if you'd like to see a poem I wrote on my blog about Mother's Day here you go: http://www.entrepremusings.com/index.php/2008/0... :-)

It makes sense that women are spending a lot more time online. Women are becoming a very large segment in the online space which explains yahoo shine, glam, cafemom and the other women oriented networks.
