Where diversity is their main ingredient. Angry white women over 50 who look past supporting a woman who can only get elected by being married, and claim she did it on her own.
Otherwise, do not buy just what is being sold. Look deeper. In Colorado, Obama won the Hispanic vote. In California, Hillary did much worse than she originally thought. Look at how the Clinton campaign will not hesitate to use race as a weapon if needed. First her staff, then Bill, then Ferraro has her racist breakdown insinuating that Obama is somehow an affirmative action beneficiary. Obama won across all boundaries in the most state. Clinton focused on party stucture. Obaman went to the people - all people, all creeds, all colors, and most importantly, all classes. Obama understands poverty, because he lived it. Clinton never lived poverty, and is ceremonial at best in her "experience."

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

More Obama songs.

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

There's a JFK quality about Obama (and not just the Kennedy endorsements): younger, attractive, energetic, hopeful. These elements have brought out a younger-looking group of celebs who maybe reflect a younger group of voters who are getting involved for the first time this year due to Obama. JFK had a bit more experience in Congress prior to his run in 1960, but anyone in their forties is going to have an experience disadvantage against someone in their sixties or (ahem) seventies.

Mark - Is your third paragraph missing the word "third" since this video is the third project will.i.am has done regarding Obama?

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

I think the first one was better too!

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

I just watched the first of the videos.

It seemed creepy. People singing about a political candidate. Singing national anthems creeps me out, and singing religious songs to invisible gods is creepy too. Hearing the name over and over, seeing the weird effect that political hierarchies have on people, turning to the leaders of violence wielding government organizations to somehow magically make the world into a good place through the use of state force instead of reason and mutually voluntary action.

Creepy.

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

Anyone else think the first video was better?

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

@Jo, RE#1:

They don't seem to be that diverse.

No Asians, no Arabs, no Indians, no Native Americans, etc...

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

I've been watching the election from the UK. I'm obviously not close to the action. Nonetheless, I think many commentators miss the point of what Obama supporters are saying. This is what I hear.

1. The people who support Obama are diverse. This is an important political point and for which alone, many people will add their vote.

2. People feel heard. Either what Obama says resonates with them or there is something in his organization which listens.

3. The key political issue facing the US at this time is renegotiating the world order, at home and abroad. Obama recognizes this and is going about it positively with as few preconditions as possible.

A key phrase is "I believe in Barack Obama because he believes in us". This is a key characteristic of a successful leader as 'collective efficacy' is a key characteristic of a successful polity.
We are seeing a changing of the guard. The young generation is coming through and understands the role of the US in the new world order.

Re: Will.I.Am Releases Sequel to “Yes, We Can”; We Are The Ones

Cup O Politics releases two music parody videos:

Hillary Clinton: Desperado - Come to your senses.

Parody of the Eagle’s Desperado featuring Hillary Clinton.

Obama and Clinton: Breaking Us In Two.

Mashup of CNN Texas Debate footage featuring Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton featuring a parody of Joe Jackson’s Breaking Us In Two.

Featuring local Boston writer and musician David Wildman.
