This looks kind of cool, they ought to hook up with some newspaper chains.

the instablog network employs journalists to rewrite posts, so it is not really that original. For example:

    http://www.automotto.org/entry/german-techart-t...

    and

    http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/11/13/techart-...

One could be a bit unkind and suggest that this is a managed blog spam network.

    Ayushi, get a life...

Blogs are personal opinions about the news. You can clearly see the credit given to the news source. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, but please try to have some common sense.

Though I don`t think there is any need to mention, but let me tell you our writers write many posts which gets linked by authority sites like NYTimes, MSNBC etc. If you are interested I can show you many examples of that.

    Hi Nandini

Thanks for your constructive reply, I shall try and use my common sense.

I was just pointing out that a lot of the stories i.e. most on instablogs are clumsy re-writes, admittedly with attribution but look at the similarities

    for example:

    http://techdigest.tv/2006/11/mii_stor_snow_d.ht... (original)

    http://www.bornrich.org/entry/mii-stor-4gb-diam... (rewrite on instablogs)

I am guessing there are teams of copy writers who create the sites.

I will take back what I said about it seeming to be a managed spam network and suggest that it is a meta content blog network with pretty liberal interpretations about sourcing content.

This is the biggest span blog hoax, I have ever seen. It has been executed to a T. Users are essentially RSS feeds from different sites. These RSS feeds or users are then given a fake profile and fake friends. The RSS feeds with such names as Veronica, Kim, Tina, are all from New Delhi, India. In fact every user is from India.

The fake RSS profiles are then linked back to instablogs, where the second act takes place. Fake votes (and a few real ones I hope), and an orchestrated front page conclude this impressive illusion that should have been saved for David Copperfield.

Its posts like this that kill the credibility of blogs, I hope mashable doesn’t suffer the same fate, but how can I blame you.

    Hi Sam,

If it is of any interest to you, I write for Instablogs and I do not reside in India. In fact, I live many nautical miles away in South East Asia ;)

The real meaning of “Citizen Journalism” has been put to the fore by the Instablogs Community by empowering the readers with an array of social tools. The readers can not only just explore the content but actively participate in the communication process too. They can have their say whether biased or unbiased. Isn’t that what we call “Journalism by the people, for the people”.

    >>>>Vox also offer some similar features.

Yeah..you can compare it to Vox on one front but the very unique thing about instablogs is that it is a news organization. You can even say that both are a place to make friends but here at Instablogs Community, the real aim is to promote Citizen Journalism where the readers can actively participate in the news discussions.

It is amazing how Sam has insinuated to be a India pundit. With a population of over 1.1 billion, with people from all known (and unknown) religions, ethnicities, races it is not difficult to find 'Western' names in India. In fact, Tina is a very common name and females from almost all faiths use it be it - Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh etc.

There are over 10 million Christians in India if Sam didn't know.

    >>It has been executed to a T. Users are essentially RSS feeds from different sites. The fake RSS profiles are then linked back to instablogs, where the second act takes place. Fake votes (and a few real ones I hope), and an orchestrated front page conclude this impressive illusion that should have been saved for David Copperfield.

This is baseless, untrue, malicious and reflective of indigestion of a successful Eastern launch by people like Sam.

Forget David Copperfield Sam, you yourself is no less amusing than an organ grinder's monkey. Get a life mate.

Ayushi, I am amazed how deeply you read Instablogs. Well, good for you, atleast you will learn something better then what you had, so far.

You quoted the example of TechDigest to BornRich, but does that means the other major blogs who covered them after I did are hoax too!

And, I can quote you many such examples...but i guess you don't even know what's blogging or to be precise..quality blogging. Hoax cry....!
