Sean, this is a very interesting space... I entered it last year after I had been laid off as GM of a software company, thought I would find a job quickly and easily, and found that the job search was totally different than what I thought it would be.
I found a gap between real tools that were available to me (many of the sites you mention here are just some of the 40,000+ job boards out there), and what career experts advised. I designed JibberJobber.com as an empowering tool to fill that gap.
Here's the thing, though. The job search is supposedly something that we do every three to five years... even if we don't change companies we'll change roles or titles. We ALWAYS need to do things like network, have a plan, have an elevator pitch, work on our personal brand, etc.

ThemBid.com is another place to post your job requests free. As a business, you can have potential clients bid and compete for you job. As a consumer you can upload your resume and portfolio files all for free in the classifieds section and also bid on posted jobs.

Sean - good list but where are the social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) that have become amongst the best tools available for Job Hunters as well as some of the recruiter centric sites like recruitersonline.com or nettemps.com?

Great list! Some are really good boards. We recently started Search-Marketing-Jobs.com, which focusses on jobs in the search-engine-optimization, social-media-marketing, ..., business.
Our concept is different from other job boards, as we're gonna publish our adverts on social news and social bookmarking services in order to make them easier to find for the targeted group of job seekers. This means that companies get much more than a simple listing.
The German sister-site suchmaschinen-marketing-jobs.de is new as well, but the first postings already received amazing traffic and attention.
There are no jobs advertised so far, as we haven't promoted the site yet. For the first 5 mashable readers this service is for free. Just type in "mashable" in the comment field of our job posting form.
An expanded list is certainly not out of the question!

Job postings are one thing. Researching a company is something else. That is especially true when trying to "access the hidden job market", as is often suggested by those who already have jobs.
For Canadian job seekers, Industry Canada has a great database containing nearly 60,000 businesses of all kinds, searchable by NAICS code, location, size, etc. Its focus is B2B or B2gov, but it is useful for job seekers too.
I've created my own, streamlined version of the search form. The original omits important information about some of the search fields, like City and Postal Code, which I added. Other search criteria have little relevance to a job seeker, so I have hidden those. I have also created versions of the page for selected regions.
You should add oDesk (http://www.odesk.com) to your list. The average project size at oDesk is about $3,000 and there are more than 2,000 new jobs posted each month.

There is a difference between "I need a job right now, where are the tools" and "I am in career management mode." I agree that FB, LinkedIn and others are useful career tools, and of course they have their jobs aspects, they are still networking, which can take a while. Finding someone is one thing, getting an introduction to their contact is another, but developing a relationship to where people trust you and think about you for a position is entirely different... that's why we should all always be in career management mode.
I neglected my career while I was focusing on my job. So when I lost my job I had no resources, no network, 40,000 job boards to sift through, billions of how to articles... it was very, very frustrating.
I should mention, me resume was pretty beefy (I wasn't looking for a McJob). I have a CIS degree and an MBA, and past titles included CIO, VP, GM, etc.

GetTheJob has been around for almost two years now, and has over 600k visitors per month. It has been "under the radar" but should be included in any list of Web 2.0 job search tools.

Great start expecially for someone who doesn't know most of these. Although I think the comments that pretty much say "why didn't you add mine" should instead email the author and say "please research mine for you next compliation" instead. It'd be easier and you'd get more recognition for your site.

Blatant, plug for current employer...
As a job seeker you should check out itzbig.com. This is not a job board per se, but more of a job network (not a social network). The bonus is that you can post a your profile (not a resume) and find job matches that are based on structured data and not a keyword search.
Furthermore, you can be in stealth mode... just check out the jobs that are out there. Sort of a cool way to keep an eye on a job market without your current employer ever knowing that you have your eyes open.
The big up side to job seekers is that you can post for your profile for free... the recruiters are footing the bill.
there's another UK referral recruitment site - Jobtonic, we reward people for referring jobs to their friends, rewards are currently up to £2200 ($4400) and we have over 1000 vacancies listed in the UK.

The best one among the listed site Jobster is the best one fitting into todays scenario with its web 2.0 executive search style it has already made a mark. It quite amazing they way you can define your alerts with 92% accuracy and it keeps the Job Seeker away from getting spamed.
One more link for your review is www.latpro.com a job board that since 1997 is dedicated to the bilingual (English- Spanish/ English - Portuguese)/Hispanic niche.
They do have RSS feeds as well as a Firefox search plug in among other tools. And one thing that makes it different is that they do not allow annoying advertising nor "work from home" opportunities, just jobs for professionals.

I recently found www.DiversityJobs.com online. They have over 120,000 listings for jobseekers of any diversity, with listings from many different job websites all together in one place.
A network of 119 local freelance job board used to find freelance work, post freelance jobs, find temporary employment, self-employment assistance, small business support and find collaborative partnerships in your area.

Employers search a database of candidate profiles and pay (the candidate!) when they receive a response within 24-hours.
It's the only job site that rewards candidates for being part of the network.

PayScale.com also has some pretty useful salary info on various jobs, depending on experience, location, etc. You can check out the average salary for your chosen career title. You might be amazed, and decide it's time to ask for that raise.

I know of a great site. The site is http://www.freegovtjobs.com. It provides free access to vacant city, county, state, and federal government jobs located across the United States.
In order for these great sites to work effectively, you need a broader job hunt strategy. http://www.jobadee.net is definitely one of the sites that helps you figure out your strategy...develop your strategy first...then go for it some of the above sites. Second - be careful of over exposure. Targeted networking is FAR more effective.

As a job seeker you should check out itzbig.com. This is not a job board per se, but more of a job network (not a social network). The bonus is that you can post a your profile (not a resume) and find job matches that are based on structured data and not a keyword search.
Furthermore, you can be in stealth mode... just check out the jobs that are out there. Sort of a cool way to keep an eye on a job market without your current employer ever knowing that you have your eyes open.
The big up side to job seekers is that you can post for your profile for free... the recruiters are footing the bill.
