Times like these, I'm glad to be in America. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, you'll have to put up with the seriously lame Canadian comedy of Tom Green.

Thanks for bringing this issue to light. As an active member of the online Colbert fandom, it is very frustrating to see the European and Canadian online fans left out in the dust. It's amazing to see how far and wide the Colbert Nation really reaches, and to see it stifled is quite frustrating.

You also make an excellent point about these types of issues encouraging piracy. Hopefully there will soon be a resolution that will work for ALL fans of the shows featured on Hulu.com.

LOL! Who invented the word 'georetarded'? That's original.

Is the US really that exclusive? I enjoy many shows that air on the BBC in the UK that I can't watch through the BBC's player when I'm in the USA. Same goes for other countries. I agree that limiting content based on geography is somewhat old media but I don't think it's fair to classify it as some sort of exclusion that only happens in the United States.

Funny that Americans think that only Americans like or want to watch the Colbert Report. Several of my native-born Israeli friends routinely share videos from the Daily Show or the Colbert Report via Google Reader, their blogs or email.

Someday the video content owners are going to wake up and realize that we live in a global economy, and that the market doesn't like having things only available in one place. Content wants to be free, to paraphrase the popular notion. Those who know how to use proxies need not be fettered by geography. Those who poke the apps a little harder often find holes in national walls.

Guys, I know this is the internet and we want everything the best, for free, and more importantly NOW, but you're dealing with old-school television companies here. For a lot of them this is their first real successful internet venture -- perhaps we should be happy that they kind of get it rather than beating them up because they can't break long-term licensing agreements here and now? It may not be a leap, but this is at the very least a step in the right direction.

Hulu showing Colbert Report and the Daily show is irrelevant now anyway as you can watch full episodes on the comedy central website now and not just clips.
