I wonder how this is going to effect their branding? Normally a name change hurts you, and the dots are what helped make them so rememberable. I probably would have never used them if their name wasn't so interesting that I wanted to check their site out. That's pretty powerful.

I guess they think their big enough and have the money to toss around to marketing the old fashion way.

When are they going to go public with the new version? I tried to get an invite to the current beta and ended up with a second "old" account?

Glad to see the change - always fat fingered it and got strange sites. I wonder how long it took to get that URL?

Gosh I hope they allow an option to keep the existing layout. Though quite minimalist, it's extremely functional, clean, and easy to use across various platforms/devices.

I too am sad to see del.icio.us lose the dots.

Kristen, the new url is exactly that, delicious without the dots, delicious.com. It currently forwards to the site with the dots, but they will probably make the switch over when the new version comes out.

Regarding the new URL, http://delicious.com currently redirects to the "dotted" URL. I'm guessing they'll use that (while maintaining the current URL for backward compatibility, of course).
