You could do that... the benefit of Rebtel's service though (I work for them) is that, once the local number's been generated and stored to your phone, you can call your friend from your mobile, whenever and whereever you want. No need for a computer. Also, Rebtel calls can be free if you and your friend have inclusive minutes on your mobile phone contract. You just need to make a Smart Call (where your friend calls you back while you stay on the line), and you'll be talking internationally on your mobile for free.

I am definitely with Anne Marie on this one… The benefits of being freed from my PC or accessing a PC application for each call and better rates (if calling people out-of Rebtel countries) makes Rebtel the obvious choice.

My advice – use the time set up a Rebtel account for your friends and take a few (very cheap minutes on Rebtel) to explain the call back process. It is simple. Trust me – some of my friends take technophobia to new heights and they still got it! Enjoy the “free SMART calls” on Rebtel…

(i work for rebtel); there's a strong facebook user base within rebtel and so we definitely wanted to be where a lot of our users are. meanwhile we're gearing up for subsequent development and have started a facebook group for reb me users: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4841078662
