Dude... nails on a chalkboard. Why has Facebook ignored the #1 rule: responsible adults are frigging kryptonite to anything cool.

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

THERE IS a software that collects, merges, and redistributes the graphs from all other social network sites into one global aggregated interface.
it's called 8hands

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

Outstanding idea. We all should help convince the sites we use that this is the right way to go!

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

I've started seeing a few social networks allowing you to port over your myspace profile and images. Something I saw on Mashable last week and signed up for let me do that and use my MySpace login and password then ported over my profile and photos. I think more site should do this and i think with the openID movement it is going to really go that route.

Facebook is the new ghetto. While I think the apps are great they are starting to get annoying and I'm tired of getting Vampire chomped.

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

I've been slow to register/adopt some of the SNS's for this very reason. Surprised it's taken this long.

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

This is obviously a great idea. Your average Myspace user is most likely NOT on any other network and would have no reason to change anything. That's why it's been so hard to use different social networks because most of my friends on Myspace aren't interested in anything else and aren't willing to explore better options.

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

This reminds me of a post about a Facebook app that has its own API of sorts.
Operating system->Browser->Open Friend Format Manager->Facebook->Facebook app->Facebook app API

Mind blowing.

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

Part of the reason why a lot of people like Facebook is because that it's closed...

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

i agree with micropat. think about it you can'teven see whats on till you log in or even when you are logged in if he is not on your network you can't

www.yeoq.com
video, audio and lyrics

Re: LiveJournal Founder Leads Open Social Network Charge

Facebook is very closed.
