Actually, a free account gets you the URL: [whatever].mofuse.mobi. If you want a different url then you need to upgrade to the $3/month plan.

that was the case previously ... not anymore though, custom URL is free :-)

It's being able to use the custom URL at mofuse that's free. You need to own the URL, which probably means that you need to pay for it.

I was using this service with the custom domain option while it was beta. They asked me what I think about the custom url service being with a fee. Tumblr was providing the same service free, so I told that I won't be using it if something like that happens, but it could be considerable for bloggers that have too many followers. After a while the service wasn't free, so I stopped even using mofuse :) So I guess it's time for me to think again. Thanks guys.

It's a good idea but not sure if it will take off. If it has a more catchy and memorable name it would probably do much better.
