Interesting thing is, nothing in the photo indicates that she was drinking alcohol. Do we know if the caption did? This is just ridiculous.
  • Jessica Costa · 2 years ago
According to the article linked in via, the caption said "Drunken Pirate" I believe that is what led them to believe that she was drinking.

I think the university was smoking crack.

What was the professor doing there? This photo is harmless, hope she wins big, but sadly the school will suffer because of that administrator's mistake.

I believe she entered into an agreement with the school whereas she would pay the required costs and achieve the required grades whence completed the school would then issue the proper documentation to this student. I am almost 100 percent positive that a prerequisite of morality was not indicated in the agreement.

    Millersville Univ. says...

No where in it's statement has it indicated that it reigns supreme as the moral authority for it's students.

It's time for Millersville to hand over the proper certificates, issue a public apology to Ms. Snyder and create three $25,000.00 annual scholarships to be awarded via student body majority vote each and every year for 100 years.

She could easily say the photo was taken in a jurisdiction with a lower drinking age (ie Canada/Europe).

Of course, the others involved have a different story to tell. Conestoga Valley High School, the school where she did her student teaching, has issued this statement: http://www.cvsd.k12.pa.us/DS/tempNews/snyderLaw.... It's not quite so clear cut, is it?

It's nice that we don't get executed for having a meeting and sharing an opinion about the religion of a national leader.

It’s nice that we don’t get executed for having a meeting and sharing an opinion about the religion of a national leader.

Are you sure it really is like that in other nations? And are you sure that you have the best freedoms regarding the same thing?

And sorry for the insult, it was partly a joke, partly an insult and partly a shocked reaction. I mean, this can really happen in America? I thought you declared yourself to be free nation. And you proudly think you are the most free nation in the world. Sure, the girl can sue her school (is "sue" the most used American word nowadays?) but going to court to protect the very basic and absurd rights of mine is pretty much hurting my freedoms too.

All right, maybe it is not that much anti freedom at all. Maybe it is just plain stupid. That is why I did not declare America as anti-free but just stupid :-P

Don't take it all too seriously :-))

    And pardon my sorry English.

    JS...you do have valid points.
As soon as we Americans can figure out how to take care of ourselves and stop electing rich selfish morons to govern us...we will be much better off.

Common sense should rule the day. Not "My way or the highway".

as far as the post above...common sense says that it's just a photo, If she earned the degree and certificate...give it to her. If, later on she proves herself unworthy...take them away.
