Enter the Zappos Sharing Happiness $3,000 Shopping Spree Giveaway Contest
This isn't my event, but I have a friend in NYC that went to the NYC Start Up Weekend and said it was well worth it. I'm going to the SF one based on that feedback. Even if you don't particularly like the company the group decides to start up, you'll likely meet some people that you'll work with in the future.

Thanks!

A simple and brilliant idea (I wish I'd thought of it): use the phone as a remote to control digital signage like the big screen in Times Square.
People just call a number and control things using their phone buttons or voice. Now THERE's an interface that works on every single phone worldwide, right now.
It allows members to find connections and interact with people who have similar interests and passions.
Link example: http://www.hey4.com/threads/hey4
At the moment it has a full API with five current different developers building on top of it. A customized start page with widgets, profile page, threads, and internal mailing system.

So helpful in the coming election year.
I noticed your site was reviewed today on techcrunch. Your page looks great! This site gets my vote to win this contest!
Bandsintown has been metioned a few times on mashable but beyond that we have kept a relatively low profile while we continue to bring our full product to market. We've just integrated in videos on artists profile pages and think we have alot more to offer than the current competion. No other site simplifies concert discovery the way we have.
check out the silversun pickups if they are coming to your area. I just got tickets for $9 bucks. Cant wait!

Marketing 2.0 (Getting rid of the CRM 2.0 verbiage). This is an online marketers dream. Integrations with the big ESPs, web analytics vendors, voice, SMS, etc. One stop shop for segmentation, reporting, behavioral targeting, etc.

JumpSwap was founded in 2006 and is a small company with fewer than 10 employees. Currently, we are working hard on developing new features and products that will benefit college clubs and organizations nation-wide.
Sports/TV mash-up that uses algorithms to automatically rate instant classics in the making. Users select their cable/satellite provider to get free email/SMS alerts when there is an exciting game they can watch on their TV.
Right now we are currently seeking some kind contributors to fill our database. We don't do "paid" reviews and we don't do fake reviews, we want the real deal.
Take it for a spin below!

Unfortunately I can't go to the Mobility Conference, unless there is a plane ticket involved ;)
Check it out. You'll like it.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the conference because I'll be in NY for Thanksgiving. Thanks!
Though it is still in developemnt, this post looked too good an opportunity to pass up.
There are several exciting features penned in for the next few weeks before a full release before Christmas.
Thanks,
Jon

Its aim is to get the music of unsigned artists the publicity it deserves.
How they plan to do this is by not only promoting music online like the many other sites on the web, but also in cafes, shops, restaurants, and anywhere else that background music is used.
Check it out.
Unfortunately I can't make it to the conference :(
Thanks!
We don't have a high power CEO, so we don't get media attention.
We get a lot of user from Facebook, we need money to scale up.

Online Passsword Manager.

I know passwords aren't sexy, but PassPack is quite a useful tool. And no, OpenID won't make it obsolete, it'll make it better.
Cheers!

It's a Facebook app but it's awesome for when you're just bored and you are too lazy to plan something...let your friends join what you're up for...like "Hey, I'm up for lunch Thursday" and anyone who is too can join your event.
Bali Alive brings a new dimension to delivering entertaining and dynamic video clips on Bali
Indonesia.
Watch the latest up to date stories on villas, resorts, activities, restaurant reviews, cultural experiences, property and more.
Where to eat, where to drink, from the people who know: restaurant and bar workers and cultural enthusiasts, at your thumbs and finger tips.
Currently in beta with a great community, custom dev launches 2/1/08 with a WAY KILLER set of tools, and alerts can be sent to a users main email address or SMS number, and provide users with updates on site activity relevant to their interest. These alerts will be developed to be as engaging as possible -– containing "“teaser"†content from the actual message to improve quick comprehension of the alert's content.
The premise is that many people are interested in networking and doing business with other people in their local area.
By linking to existing content and building a Community Directory, people are able to expand their network of contacts across other social and business.

Their solutions looks great and appear to be very easy to use.

"Publish with confidence"
It's a social networking site for sharing ideas and resources for your home. The site is just out of private beta, but already has some great content and ideas. The navigation is very user-friendly.
I found tracking for freight and small parcel, NMFC Codes which NOBODY lists online. and the entire site was free and had no advertising.
I am on that site every day and have subscribed to their RSS feed as well. Alot of info in one place.
The results are relevant, super quick and the embedded players make it easy to find what you are looking for.
It's in public beta and it's just added site badges and automated posting.
It's an anti-social networking site started up by a guy at my college. Unlike facebook where you list all the people, places, music and books that you LIKE, you list all of the things that you DON'T LIKE.
One of the main features of the site is writing short 'annoyances'. These are the equivalent of a facebook 'status'. There are more lengthy 'musings' which are somewhat like facebook's 'notes'.
You can rate everyone's musings and annoyances with a + neutral or - depending on what you think of it. Then you can see who else rated that annoyance and what they thought about it. These +'s and -'s add up over time and the total of the ratings from all of your annoyances is listed next to your name.
I think it's a clever twist on a proven site type, but just twisted enough that it's still unique.

Hope you like it.
http://www.gamegum.com
When we turn on the rest of the features the site will have a complete guide to the BWCA, Every State and Federal park, free event and race listing and more.
The most impressive thing about the site is the fact that it is 2 guys who do active outdoor sports and went to film school building the whole thing with there own time and money.
It's currently in public beta, and features a custody calendar, shared parenting guide and a messaging system. You get email notifications when the calendar is updated or enter your cell email as the alternate address to get texted as well. I keep updating the site and plan to add photo/video sharing and forums next. It's not bad for a one man show.
Check out www.custodyplanner.com
Its worth checking out - and its totally free. If you ever needed to plot several locations, and all you have are addresses - this is the tool for you.
