Say what you will, but Ron and Adam saw the real talent in Dawn and Drew and have kept them on the air for 767 episodes now.

Ron Bloom is a scumbag. He stiffs people on their pay checks then hides like a little bitch. 1 Million hours of content? Who cares 1 Million hours of crap is still CRAP.

I hope Bloom has to give back the money he blew to his investors.

Either that or maybe he should dye his hair a little more.

Adam really was a major catalyst for the podcast movement. It appears that he came away richer, and many podcasters came away with the same, or more likely less money than they started with. While I don't have any personal evidence, I've hear several podcasters speak poorly of their arrangement with podshow.

I still listen to many a podcast every day. I do sympathize with the challenge that those who wish to make a living with all this face. Hell, to even pay for their costs! What a strange paradigm this is. Hopefully you all do better than I did.

From Ron's site:

"I put forward the 5/50 rule that predicted within 5 years, over 50% of the content consumed would be created by other consumers. From my vantage point, Iâ€™m now thinking that I underestimated the percentages."

I have personally always hated the PodShow name--good that they finally decided to change it. I think some old-school people equate the iPod with Podcasting and don't realize you don't *need* an iPod to hear podcasts...

I think back to the day in 2005 when Adam Curry and Dave Winer met in Miami with Ron Bloom and others. Their meeting blew up. They never went into business. It was messy. Curry and Ron Bloom went on to start Podshow. The company had a shadow over it from the start. I expect "mevio" will post a profit by year's end but Bloom's comments don't exactly demonstrate a lot of confidence about exponential growth.
