Flickr claims that the app will access my private stuff, there are photos in my stream that are only allowed to my family and friends what would happend if I let this app access my flickr stream ? people would be able to watch my private fotos ?

The Flickr app was actually added to the Facebook application list last week. It's premature though: I tried installing it and all kinds of errors started popping up resulting in my account being logged out involuntarily. I promptly uninstalled it. Hopefully, the dev that wrote the app can get the bugs worked out.

I like Facebook it has some Unique features + certainly being able to add my Flickr photos in is c0ol* Amazing how many people U discover on Facebook that U haven't seen in ages*

Some people are doing it for fun , very similar to people that contribute to open source projects.

I can understand sites that developing apps for facebook or myspace to extend their visibility.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why all these facebook applications and other open API sites are sprouting up. I mean the reasoning behind it such as for the person(s) doing these applications - how do they benefit from it? Who benefits from it? The company (like facebook?) them (the programmers/site owners?) and how? Does it increase traffic? sign up? branding?
