Johny as us Australians like to call him is now officially out of the prime minstership. Whats very interesting, is that he has even lost his seat in parliament. This just shows the extend to which people started to dispise his new "work choices" policies, support of Iraq and also his continued denial of climate change (up until a few months before the election, when it emerged as a key issue).
Kevin Rudd knew the power of the internet, but also how technology is such an important aspect of campaign commitments - for example, he is giving free laptop computers to all high school students (can anyone say Cha Ching for Dell or Apple!) and also promised to build one of the worlds fastest internet broadband network with speeds in excess of 100mB/s for a majority of residential households. Figures upwards of $10 billion (around $8 or 9 billion USD) to be spent on internet fibre to the node inforstructure development.
