    At times they mix perfectly.

I pay quite a bit of money to Comcast to deliver many of these channels already (sometimes I wonder why I _do_ pay them so much). Honestly, if I want to watch news, I have a TV. It repeats every hour if I miss something. Plus many of these companies have video on their own sites. I'd rather watch something out of the mainstream than more of the standard line on YouTube.

YouTube is decent, but still doesn't surface up News Video well.

    For News Video, try out:

I avoid video news media both online and on television and would never consider going to youtube for a source of news information, I go there for fun. If I need something from a reputable source I will go to the BBC website to read my info. If the video is so important to see I will search for it and view it through multiple sources.

I like reading my news. Blogs, news sites, online magazines, etc. I'll watch a news video if I feel it is something that is better served via video or something like an interview. I don't think YouTube dilutes the news source in any way because I've found most of the news stories I've had to look for on YouTube but I do feel it needs to be better integrated with the BBC source/site to really hit home. The BBC audience is pretty loyal and I'm not sure they will go to YouTube to watch those videos. I think those videos need to make their way over to the audience instead.
I think this will work over time.

This is something that Redlasso did very well. It allowed the blogger to search news media over multiple sources, and cross reference actual broadcasts. Once you found the story you wanted, the user had the control to edit and create the news clip they wanted in the frame of their blog post. It wasn't forced clips... it was all about user control. If I wanted an extra sentence of commentary to put the story in the right context, I could clip it that way... my way. There was nothing else like it for news and those perfect water cooler moments. Bring back my Redlasso please!

I want to get my news from a credible source and YouTube doesn’t seem credible to me. I’ve watched plenty of fun and funny videos on YouTube so that’s the way I view it – a site to be entertained, not informed. Plus, I’d rather watch the news on my nice TV screen, rather than a slight computer screen.

It is just wise to view more sources than one. Youtube makes that happen.

That's what I like too, I wish YouTube had a good way to organize multiple sources for each news story, sort of like Google News. Maybe it does, but I have not found it yet, so I only find videos about a story through search, and that means I usually have to find out about the story somewhere else first.
