    It's a little bit unfair to compare Mahalo that has been out there for months with an active community, with a product that was release a few hours ago.

    I'm not implying that Wikia rocks, but I can understand that at the current time it's the basic structure for a search engine that could be developed later on as it gets more users and contributions.

    I really appreciate Mashable, however you folks miss the point on Wikia Search. It's currently a set of loosely joined technologies and not a mainstream product. It is meant to be an open source platform that will allow developers and editors together to build an alternative to proprietary search. It is not, as yet, a mainstream product and should not be evaluated as such. Have a developer do the review of this one...

    For now, all the results I get are spammy...just advertisers apparently trying to get their sites in there.

    For example, search for web hosting :-).
