Doesn't robots.txt take care of stuff like that?

Yes, but one can easily read that file, go there, upload it to a different website and post the images tere.

    According to the press release:

    http://www.prweb.com/releases/perfect/microsoft...

    It says:

“Microsoft is showing tens of thousands of extremely valuable celebrity images, along with Perfect 10 images, without authorization, which it obtains from hundreds if not thousands of pirate websites,”

There has got to be a software solution to block unauthorized access to content.

Can't they just post their content under https security settings? There are definitely tools to eliminate people hotlinking to your images.

If they expect Microsoft to hunt for their stolen images though, that others have downloaded, saved, and republished, that is a bit ridiculous.

That could be a nice paid service they could offer though to make some money.

Any half decent adult webmaster uses the mod rewrite options to stop what is technically leeches. Whether its MSN, google or korean and chinese BBS posting your content you are an idiot not to stop it. Unless of course you let them do it and then sue them :)

Heh. I bet a lot of people didn't get past that first sentence.

"...really?" *switches to MSN search to see if it works*
