Everybody outside the UK pays international SMS fees to send tweets anyway, so we're already used to the idea of paying to use it. Plus there are lots of 3rd party tools that have integrated Twitter direct messaging into their services...so the loss of outgoing SMS is cutting folks off from those tools, too. I'm personally missing the Twitter connection to both my calendar and To Do list.

I would have gladly paid Twitter to get DMs via SMS if they offered that option. After the way Twitter handled this issue, I'll be grateful to pay someone else for the service instead.

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

TweetTxt has also the same features

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

over conectivty sucks

rc

trading tennis blog

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

[viddler_video=2a149174]

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

First they stop it, then want to bring it back. I wish they would make up their mind. I think its to get all the UK customers down! and then rise straight back up with happiness, so that they will be back on twitter a lot or something.

Twitter has been making changes, that people aren't liking. If the people don't like it they will move service to like friendfeed or plurk or something... If twitter started something and have that big of a user base, then they should work hard to keep it good. Not go down hill by changing stuff that will disapoint people every few weeks.

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

cool ... never a shortage of people looking to make a quick buck :-)

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

As is http://www.zygotweet.com/ Zygo, which has the advantage of already having a group SMS/web service up and running

Re: tweetSMS to Bring SMS Updates Back to UK Twitter Users

TweetTxt is doing the exact same thing.
