I never had an issue with facebook connect although that's not my favorite function of facebook. Like the other poster mentioned, I don't really need all my comments to be "everywhere" for anyone to see. This security site doesn't have any details on it but I'm going to check later.

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

viblogodaram mnogu

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

go potvrduvam ovaa face book sto se registrirav

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

@Osvaldo - didn't say I want one company to have control, just seems to be how Facebook wants it to go

@Trae - yep, a lot of it is PR right now. Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc don't seem in any rush to let people login with OpenID on their properties either, despite their pledge of support.

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

I believe the move is simple the OpenID foundation wanting to understand better how to implement a unified login. The greatest failure of OpenID is truly it's implementation. Facebook Connect is done the way OpenID should have from the start. I think Facebook will be there to help improve the user experience of OpenID simply as a PR move.

Everyone knows that Facebook is a closed system, and that's the biggest complaint about Facebook. They throw a little help for an open standard and people won't feel so bad about implementing Facebook Connect. Then as they did with all the application developers, OpenID will be thrown under the bus. It's a bleak outlook, I know...but it's Facebook's chance to prove me wrong.

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

Personally, I'd much rather see the keys to a global identity standard resting in an organization comprised of thought leaders in the industry rather than in the hands of one fiscally-driven organization.

On the other hand, maybe Facebook is genuinely interested in making the web a better place, and contributing their knowledge and experience towards improving identity standards.

I wouldn't rule it out.

Re: Facebook Joins OpenID Foundation; So What?

I just don't get it.
