So a corollary is: TimBL couldn't have made the Web without Al Gore's initiating the Internet.

Re: Inventor of the Web Wins $350,000 to Reform New Media Journalism

I am another winner of the Knight News Challenge grant and when they lined the winners up to take pictures I was standing behind Tim, who was very conscious of the fact that he was taller than me - so he started crouching down so the audience could see me.

It was crazy. Before tonight I felt like Sir Tim Berners Lee was a wikipedia page. But he was very human and considerate.

Re: Inventor of the Web Wins $350,000 to Reform New Media Journalism

Very interesting concept, actually. If it works, it could mean a huge new shift in the kind of articles that get importance. I mean, as of now, only the big MSM articles get more weight, but if the importance is based on autheticity, well...That'll sure promote original journalism, and cut down on the practise of putting together articles based on other people's leg work.

Re: Inventor of the Web Wins $350,000 to Reform New Media Journalism

Did Gore ever actually say he created the internet?
