Yeah it looks good, but not in Opera 9.25 unfortunately. If you can make it look good in Safari, why not Opera? It's not that far behind.

If it shows me better news than Digg I'll switch. I know Digg is supposed to be the Web 2.0 postersite, but IMO it's weighted TOO heavily on user contribution. All the stories look the same. "Top 10 this" "Ron Paul that" "I Heart Apple" etc. etc. It looks like Newspond has good some great algorithms for reducing that.

But... I'd have to suggest that the success of Digg could partly be attributed to those website owners who have are interested in promoting their own content. If Newspond makes it harder to manipulate the front page, the content might be better but they may loose their appeal to an important segment of their audiences. Anyway, just a thought. Good luck to them anyhow.

I don't really think Newspond is taking aim at Digg. It's more like Techmeme, in that users can't submit and vote on stories. The whole process is automated. It's more social than Techmeme, since you can leave comments. But unless I'm missing something, I think it's odd to compare Newspond to Digg.

try myaboo.com . it's different from techmeme and newspond but it has the interesting stories and you can shuffle the stories.

Newspond the "most advanced news site on the planet" so advanced that it doesn't need rss. "most useless" would be a better tag. YES, it LOOKS lovely, but so far I don't see any reason to go back.

I think the most interesting is the last minute feature.

It looks slick enough, and their claims are outrageous enough that they'll probably get some attention for a couple of days, but I doubt this will knock Techmeme off its throne.
