    For those perplexed by the question, "Is it possible to knock out a zombie?" Adam just provided the answer.

    I don't totally agree with Adam's take on it being a technorati killer, it's much more of a techmeme killer if anything, but even then it's not like people that are serious users of either site are all of a sudden going to jump ship because google does it too.

    I think it harms Technorati way more than TechMeme because TechMeme is blogs + mainstream media, based mostly on linking patterns. Google Blog Search and Technorati are both blog search with little differentiation, other than Google's seems quicker and easier for average joes to use. The fact that Google is in the game may limit TM's growth potential, but TM has a loyal following and is still a unique product in wake of Google Blog Search.

    Agree with Adam.
    is this change another 20% workload from the Google staff?
    nice to see blog search improving, but still not as fast/accurate as techmeme.

    I honestly don't think this will deal Technorati a 'knockout punch.' Their website is getting better and you can do way more there than with a simple blog search engine. Yeah, it's nice but you can't claim your blog or grab widgets for bloggers. Plus if you want to just browse topics you can use Technorati and find good results on their category pages.

    It's funny, 99% of the posts you do about Technorati are negative.

    @BigTron - agreed.

    The bad news is that sites like techmeme might get hurt in short term... but on the good side it seems like a new class of aggregation engine will soon start hitting the net. People outside the tech industry haven't seen too many of these around yet.

    Here are a few we are working on

    Looks like a FAIL to me.

    Google found only 14 to 17 found posts as of 10/2/2008 about the "Amazon EC2 running Microsoft Windows Server" topic and mine wasn’t one of them, although it appeared on Techmeme. What’s really strange is no entry for Werner Vogels’ "Expanding the Cloud: Microsoft Windows Server on Amazon EC2" post of 9/30/2008 or Jeff Barr’s "Coming Soon: Amazon EC2 With Windows Amazon Web Services" blog post of 10/1/2008, which are the authoritative posts for the topic.

    Many SEO companies claim that the SEO process can generate profitable traffic. I do not agree to this statement because I think that the issue is far more comprehensive and needs expertise from other professionals, persons who known more than merely the IT business

    It seems to be “easy” to build a profitable website, but it is not. The expectations are high and as I see it too many IT nerds master the technical side needed but lack the basic knowledge of relevant business principles. I do not think that a website can be turned into a golden egg only based on the tricks used by some in order to get the best ranking. Much more competence is needed and a deep understanding of how to manage through crises as we experience right now or expressed in another way, few have the ability to manage when rapid changes take place. I think it is also a question of communication, to whom do we speak, well both to our present customers as well as to potential. In advertising it is a known fact the a major part of advertising is spent to keep existing customers happy and the rest is for potential but maybe these days other rules are applying?
