Remember and Take note. And Pay heed. Any too good a deal or offer or tempting offer is just"Plainly not necessarily too good to be true". Remember the story of The King offered Gold. Anything He touches turns to gold, even his daugther turned to gold. Here comes MICROSOFT so called to the rescue again. Haven't they learned their lessons by now, MICROSOFT still want's to hold a monopoly on the market. SEE WHAT IT DID TO THE APPLE COMPANY, NETSCAPE, NOVELL COMPANIES, TO OTHER COMPANIES.
MICROSOFT with all its good intentions is a Pandora's box. It is killing the creative minds of our country and society by imposing it to swallow only it's dictates, Remember Borland and Java, it flooded the market with its own version of Java Script that is incompatible with other softwares and products. Microsoft lacks its own originality and has always been a copy cat ever since its birth. "It's Killing Me Softly" so as to speak. It's worst as an Alien Invasion - Attack from Mars. Creative geniuses are frustrated because large companies steal great ideas and the large companies profits while still the majority or minority genuises are very poor and destitute. THINK ABOUT THAT. The history of giant mergers is mostly one of failure.

Google was late to the game - and they made it to the top because they delivered superior products and marketing. Alta Vista, Yahoo, Ask and Microsoft had all the time, money and talent to create equal or better solutions - but they failed.

The merger won't create better products - just tr save money on operations and reduce diversity in the market. All that talk about synergies is rubbish - Yahoo! and MS gobbled up tons of companies - and still failed to manifest those great synergies.

For example Yahoo acquired Overture - which was ahead in context sensitive advertising. But it was Google who really made money from it.

It's all about products, not size.

Re: Readers React to Microsoft’s Proposed Acquisition of Yahoo

This is a great business for MS and a great chance to MS increase its search markets’s quota and advertising in the internet. The Yahoo internet knowledge is very important for MS. But, exists a small strategy that the MS must follow. The MS and the Yahoo must continue to operate as independent companies and never operate as one alone company. The MS and Yahoo are competing and must to continue thus for the future. If somebody remember to join the Yahoo search engine with the MS search engine, the only company that will win is Google... So be one, but not together.
