This is the future of the social web -- effectively profiling users [wants/needs/interests] and providing/pushing key content and messages that will resonate specifically with them. So, in essence, it becomes 'Your Web' serving up content that's relevant to you so you can create your own unique -- and meaningful -- experiences online. It ultimately benefits the users, websites, and dare I say it, even advertisers.

I'm using Apture on several blogs and appreciate the added value it brings to my readers. It saves me time by allowing me to link to outside sites and references that explain terms I would otherwise need another paragraph to explain myself. It's an easy way to provide images and videos that add depth to a post. I'm impressed with Apture.

This crap is so unnecessary. Any site owner who forces users to deal with these experience breaking plugins is asking for trouble.

It will be interesting to see if startups like this help Google monetize Youtube in licensing out the content the same way Imeem is doing for the major labels via their platform.

A google like just more handy. Make it popular among bloggers and then most of the blogs will look even more similar. The unification of the diversity in blogs, will develop just a strange universal thinking and "freedom Speech". For lazy blogger, an already bored journalists. Shame on Washington Post if it claims using this tool to publish its newspaper. What will last then to professional journalist. Vive Aperture, vive the web freedom ;)
