Thanks for this post - the lower east side art scene is a great alternative to Chelsea - looking forward to this event.

You might enjoy tech artist Mark Dotzler. You can see a slideshow of his minimal tech sculpture at (http://markdotzler.com). Also, there are some cool Google Homepage Themes on the last page of his site. My favorite is "Fat Web Pipe" which is great on my large computer display screen.

The Art space is pretty big these days. I just saw that Andy Howell is launch a art community and commerce site called ARTSPROJEKT (http://www.artsprojekt.com). Also Humblevoice has a pretty awesome site.

    Thanks for the review, Paul.

@Chris, yeah, the arts online are increasingly crowded. Humblevoice is pretty awesome indeed. I'd also point you toward NYArtBeat, an art events directory here in New York.

While there are a lot of folks working in the art industry, I think there is a lot of space for different projects to do different things. Artlog scratches a number of itches that I myself had (until recently).

    Thanks again.

I think MYARTSPACE ( http://www.myartspace.com )will blow most of these sites out of the water once they implement their shops. They have better design than Artnet and they make Saatchi's site look like a fossil.

Good to see another social art network, I don't think there are too many around yet.

If you're interested in promoting an upcoming art exhibition, Playster - http://www.playster.org - provides a very simple service for adding events directly to our search index. You'll be able to reach a new audience in your city as well as drive traffic to your site or blog.

    Enjoy!
