i've been playing devils advocate and saying just because we can see it and share it, should we be able to? thats what this guy wanted!
  • mellisa · 2 years ago
No you're wrong all he wanted was help but all everyone keep giving him was pain and misery. Kids are cruel and evil they never think of their action and how it would affect others around them. Cho been tortured all his life from inside out and it's sad that he had to take his life and others to show everyone his pain. What he did was horrible and im sorry for all the family out there but it's not all his fault. This will help to stop this happeningin in the future.
  • Taras · 2 years ago
    Oh it wasn't his fault?
Tell me how many students are bullied and tortured at schol?Do you see all of them running around later with 2 guns and killing everybody on their path with cold blood?I don't think so!This guy was a mentally disturbed and I am deeply sorry that nobody payed attention to the warnings from the students and the teachers.Because of no attention a lot of people payed a terrble price. His reason does not justify what he did.
I hope no-one will see some kind of a hero in this guy, he did not die like Jesus Christ and he wasn't thinking about his brothers and siters that we "****ed", he was just crazy.Nothing more, nothing less...
  • Kavita · 2 years ago
Taras has a point, BUT this man was mentally sick. I think I read somewhere that he had autism since he was a child No, he did not have any right to do what he did, but as Mellisa mentioned, he was tortured emotinally. I know what it's like to be rejected and outcasted, I know what it's like to be bullied, I am pretty sure most of us do, probably a lot more than others. However, most of us had someone that would talk to us or take the effort to be our friend. Cho had no one that reached out to him. He felt tortured emotinally, pushed away from society, and he actually thought he was a martyr or something. I am in no way saying he had a right to do what he did, because what he did was horrible. However Cho was a victim in a different way. He was a victim to his mental ilness. It was his mental illness that influnced his behavior. When something like this happens, you have search for the root cause, not blame what you see on the surface.
  • kafa · 2 years ago
If you don't understand what's life is about don't speak.
  • Johnny W · 2 years ago
WTF Kavita, dont even try to justify for him and then try to unjustify it. You say you know what it feels like to be bullied..well wah wah!! Get over it...dont speak unless you know what it feels like to be shot...weigh out the harm...also...calling people snobs...people like that are lucky that America is the melting pot that it is...thankful that they have the frickin' option to be here...yet they want to come here and try to change the way we live...stay at your home if you don't like us people...terrorism doesn't need to exist..they world doesnt owe anyone shit!

i totally agree, if the united states wouldnt make it so easy for these idiots so easy to come over here and take over we wouldnt be in the shit we are in today
  • rosario · 2 years ago
    WTF?
    how can you say that?
what's the point in blaiming the united states for letting in people from other nacionalities? for god's sake!!!!!
he is a human (was) just like everyone else, what's the difference?! he was mentally ill and a psycofor me..and i read somehwere that he had autism, but whatever.. you can't blame your country or his country (korea) for this..

Do I hear a racist comment from whitted "if the united states wouldnt make it so easy for these idiots so easy to come over here and take over we wouldnt be in the shit we are in today." Maybe because of your racism people become mentally challenged and due to your behaviors and the stress provide, people become hurt. Even if there were people to reach out to, would they have understood him? Everyone around him were Caucasian - not meaning to be racist but if you were to read an article about him in his high school life you would know what he was experiencing. What kind of comment was "go back to china" from his fellow classmates? Even still, he wasn't from china - why do people like you have to be anymore racist than the United States already is? Perhaps if there were more people like you, there would be more people like Cho until you people actually realize that you can cause mental damage to people. Not to say I'm justifying his actions. Everyone knows what he did was wrong and that what he did was more extreme than people making fun of him. But over a prolonged period of time, who can say that Cho was not affected in any way? I hope everyone of you read this message and come to reality that the people who started problems created more problems - maybe if those of you out there show some respect and courtesy to others this would be prevented in any way. Anyone may say that "stones and sticks may break my bones but words will never hurt me," but words can deeply scar an individuals self-esteem, so it was from the beginning why wouldn't you just let him be? I couldn't read his mind, but if he was a quiet kid he probably didn't want to start any trouble so why did his classmates start the trouble? Moreover, he already suffered from stress as this was read from the article regarding his uncle's statement about him. His relatives always said he was well-behaved and that he was just quiet, so if he was left alone maybe all this wouldn't have happened but we may never know. Also, it was noted that his family was stressed as his parents had to work hard like any immigrant family so why not just give them a break? Why do any more damage to them when they have suffered this much? What is the intention of you and many others? Sorry, for the vulgar language but I'm trying to get a point straight to all you people out there who are trying to blame this issue solely on Cho for it was not the product of himself but also of the people around him.

IF YOU EXPECT ME TO BELEAVE THAT CHO WENT THROUGH ANYTHING EXCEPTIONAL PLEASE. GO BACK TO CHINA? YEA IM SHUR THERE WAS WORSE. BUT PEOPLE GO THROUGH SHIT IN MANY DIFFRENT WAYS EVERY SINGLE DAY. I LOVE HOW "PEOPLE LIKE YOU " ARE SO IGNORANT TO BELEAVE SOCIAL PRESSURES AND DAILY STRESS IS ONLY IN AMERICA.NO I DONT THINK ITS OK BUT IT IS THE WAY OF THE WORLD. YOU CANT EVEN HAVE YOUR OWN BELIEFS IN SOME COUNTRYS.DO YOU REALIZE THAT RELIGION IS THE #1 REASON FOR WAR. What you mean is : Go back to Korea...*sigh*

Ummm, yeah. What I think is MOST apparent here is Cho Seung Hui had some mental disturbance, which is obvious in his video and actions. People are trying to collectively gather some meaning from it all. When something like this happens, it's so distressing, that we can't help but try to understand what had occured in the first place. It's not about pointing fingers, it's not about a culture or crazy envy. It's about someone who was mentally ill that went on a rampage that had shocked our systems as a society. I think the major lesson here is to pay attention to your surroundings, classmates, co-workers, family, friends, if they are showing signs of disturbances. But, truly, it is still a "cloud of unknowing."

You're all fucking wrong, humanity itself is the problem, not just Cho, or the people that fucked with his head, we all do things for our own enjoyment, no matter who it hurts, he just held it in for so long that's what he felt would make him feel better, if the people didn't fuck with him because he didn't fucking talk a lot, then maybe he wouldn't have done what he did. Everyone is at fault, the bullies, Cho, the teachers, and everyone else that could have done something but decided not to. Cho was the only one that decided to do something after no one else made sure he got help. He did what he felt like doing, and he got back at society, showing just emotional torture can drive a man to the edge. The sad thing is that this will have no change in society, sure security will tighten up and shit, but humanity won't change, we will continue being what we are, because really no one cares. Sure a lot of people are devastated about this, but there are about 100x more people that really couldn't give a shit, why? Because we are human, this is how we are made, we all have different ways to express ourselves, his way of getting even with all the ridicule was to blow people's brains out, and just because people say it's wrong doesn't mean it is. Do I agree with it myself? No. But if someone truly has their mind set on something, and not much is stopping them, they will probably do it. Now thing of that before you just go blame Cho, and not society. And I know someone is going to flame this, and really, I don't care, because the one's that do are probly ignorant, however other's may have a good point, which then I will respond to, anyway that's all.

bullshit it is all his fault! if he was so unhappy he could have left, moved or just killed himself, not other inocent people! what a coward, I hope he rotts in hell!!!!!!
my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their familes. And I feel sorry for his parents. NOT for HIM
  • kimanii · 2 years ago
I agree, look at all the lifes he took and all the pain that he's cause for all of the famlies. i feel bad for them NOT HIM.. If he was so miserable he should of moved somewhere and start oput fresh with his life or something.. he's a coward and i big Humiliation to his people.

I totally agree. We outta feel sorry for Cho as well. He must've went through great torture for him to express it in this tragic way. We have some responsibilities to this as well. Let's continue to pray for not just this case, but all the other things that are going on in this world. All God wants from us is to trust in him and love one another, is this really that hard to do? I suppose with no time in a day and having to make a dollar out of fifty cents, I guess it will cause people to go crazy sometimes, but that is whay we need faith in God, he really is the only one who can guide us in the right path.

Autistic people can't always ask for help. They scream for help in their mind. There is a story on the news about people who aren't asleep during surgery and that's what it's like. It's only a few that hear this voice. I hear it as I am also like that. Perhaps you should blame me. I never knew who Cho was but I felt him die and one of the voices went quiet.

Often autistic people can't turn off your thoughts. Too all those that shout insults at cho I say prove the victims were innocent? Few are innocent these days and I heard nothing insane in his speech. A bit over the top and filled with ego. Yet when there is an accident on the highway and a person lays mangled and bleeding people slow down. Usually nobody stops as the purpose of slowing down is the entertainment of seeing the suffering of others. What percent of Americans are good and innocent? 5%-10% if that. It's an act and we see threw it. We see your depravity's.

To those that understand cho's pain please forgive my harshness, as you are the innocent and I'm sorry for the venom mixed with the truth as I see it. It's comments like yours that make life worth it and the pain of my memory bearable. You are the people that gives life meaning.
  • Kafa · 2 years ago
    I totally agree with you.
  • kuntakinte · 2 years ago
Mellisa, not only was he further pushed by people who were suppose to be his friends but also by Nikki Giovanni "the poet" and ex-proffesor to Cho who she hated very much. Nikki manifested on CNN that Cho intimidated her with his macabre writing. Giovanni forgot about one of the greatest minds in American literature, Edgar Allen Poe whom was the creator of stories like "The Cask of Amontillado." All of his writing throughout his life from 1809 to 1849 was macabre and they stories are still sold today. But Giovanni and others stated that Cho was "Evil" for fabricating these macabre stories.
Furthermore I do agree with you because I believe Cho's roommates might have been the Catalyst. He was the object of their amusement. They introduced several female students to him and they got him drunk and like any drunk he spoke with incoherence. Someone should consider questioning "John" and "Andy" on their relationship with Cho and why it was that Cho was afraid of turning the lights off at night. Nikki, John and Andy might have been just one of many factors that caused this horrible reaction and thus making the good people involved pay a terrible price for the traspasses of others.
  • Chegreener · 2 years ago
I can't believe you are even entertaining/suggesting the notion that responsibility for Cho's actions - in part or in whole - rest with with anybody other than himself. Further, some of Cho's victims may have been the targets of bullying, and in some instances were from groups that have been traditionally subject to racial predjudice and oppression. That being so, Cho's pathetic excuse that "the bullies made me do it" is full of hypocrisy and likely the product a disturbed mind that was looking to pin the blame on someone/thing other than himself. Don't get me wrong, I beleive that bullying is a real problem and needs to be taken seriously, but in Cho's case it has served (both he and the media) as a conveneint explanation for his unconscionable/inexplicable deed.
  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
  • Deathstrikepk · 2 years ago
You're probly one of the one's that bullies others, or has never been bullied before, or quite possibly you have people there to tell you 'It's ok' or 'Just forget about this, those guys are assholes' Cho had none of these, so he continued to be pushed to the edge without anyone trying to help him, before you criticize him, be in his shoes, then talk all the shit you want. And I'm not saying what he did was right, quite opposite, but he was never helped, sure some people suggested things to him, but never tried to make sure he did them.
  • Think · 2 years ago
It will only help to stop this in the future if we teach our children mercy; and to do that we have to "have" mercy ourselves. Unfortunately, the same people that torture others grow and continue their cruelty.
  • Nikki · 2 years ago
All I Can Say Is I Can Not Believe Ur Even Justiflying Wot He Has Done!
  • Think · 2 years ago
Nikki, I'm talking about "us"; us as human beings with feelings, right...if we never show mercy, never forgive, never see two sides to a story...then who are we? There is no justification for what he did. Do you have justification for what was done to him? We are not the JUDGE Nikki; not me and not you. My heart bleeds for the way our world is.
  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
EVERYTHING THAT WAS DONE TO HIM????????????? what do you know of what was done to him. you sit here and make some merciful justification for what you beleave to be your truth based on herE say and physcoligical babble on a insane murdering view told in his words or the bump on his head. here you go 3RD SIDE TO THE STORY. heres a kid who mentaly has problems.why and what they are we dont know. but it is. he see an attraction to hip,hot and fraternity way of life.but he dont know how to deal with these emotions he feels. so he stalks his attracters. thier scared some guy they dont know wont leave them alone(kindergarden, DONT TALK TO STRANGERS)they call their male friends .it gets handled.(IF IT WAS YOUR DAUGHTER, THEYD BE HEROS ECSPECIALY IF HE TURNS OUT TO BE A KILLER)this reacures a couple times NOW HE FEELS BULLIED HURT AND REJECTED KNOW ONE KNOWS CAUSE HE CANT SWALLOW HIS PRIDE AND TELL SOMEONE. HE EXPECTS PEOPLE LIKE YOU JUST to RECONIZE. please give me a break and learn what HUMAN REALITY REALLY IS.I HAVE THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR THE WAY THE WORLD SHOULD BE. Some white people in America are that pathetic. I seen white people pick on asian for no reasons or maybe that reason might be their skin colors. With the hazing and high school shooting in America, this proves America is on failing education and family system. He might be crazy but he got a good reason to be.

Are you serious!?!? Not his fault??? I have no ties to Virginia tech or any of the victims, but I have no pity for this man what-so-ever. All through school, I was the little runt kid. I was bullied, I had the shit beat out of me. I had people publically humiliate me, but you know what, I didn't puss out like this guy. You want to know what I did. I asked myself what would it matter 20 years from now. I continued through college and am now probably far more well off than any of my former classmates. I am 25 years old, I have a great house, an amazing job, I have a beautiful wife, a beautiful one year old son, All of which i never would have seen if I had given up. That is what Cho did, he gave up on life. You know the saying, quitters never win. I am amazed you would defend him.

I viewed your video; and also read the script from two other sources...What I saw and read was: 1) I realize that everyone is say-ing "evil, mentally, ill...etc", but the stories coming from other people (as well as from Cho) state he was mentally tortured and abused, made fun of, had paper stuffed in his mouth, spat on...mentally ill or not the constant hammer of cruelty appears to have made him snap. 2) Did anyone else notice that the abuse the child was putting on the step-parent caused the step-parent to "snap" and a life lost. 3) This seems most important, the kids "mother" never once questioned the conduct of her unruly, disrespectful, inconsiderate kid...she just jumped on the band wagon against the step-father...why? Maybe Cho was trying to tell his story in disguise, but even a College Prof threw him away...she was going to "quit" if they didn't get him out of her class. Could it be he was trying to say, they can do or say anything... even their parents won't care! Once people start humiliating or torturing another person, others jump on the band wagon, why, because noone wants to be on a losing side. We need to teach our children; true enough...but they learn what they live!

The widespread availability of this video is heartening. It makes me feel sullen and torn for the families and friends of the Vtech victims. But, people deserve to see what is out there, regardless of the content. People are rational actors and they can make their own decisions. It can serve as closure for some, and they have the right to access it if they so choose.

  • elbop · 2 years ago
Cho Seung-Hui: This generation's Charlie Manson.

To talk only about whether to show the video to the public is to miss the point of what the video reveals.

It's not just that "this is what he wanted." From what I've seen on CNN, this guy was a 21st century version of the complete alienation exhibited by Charlie Manson over a generation ago.

Cutting to the chase, Cho was another example of what the dark side of US culture continues to produce with predictable regularity.

That is the point of releasing the video: so that healthy, intelligent people can be confronted with evidence that should lead them to evaluate the effects and consequences of their culture, without censoring the eveidence to avoid damaging the illusion that it needs no such examination because it is perfect.

To whit, the gushing on and on about the bravery and the clean-cut character of the thousands of students and youg people in general.

This is fine... there are millions of decent young people in our nation. But comparing Manson to Cho, and considering all the other sick and violent mas murderers in between, indicates that something in our culture is in need of serious help.

The censorship of evidence needed by a free people to form enlightened opinions is the hallmark of a tyranny.

In response to the comment about why anyone but the FBI should see the video, keep in mind that Cho didn't send the video to the authorities; he sent it to NBC, a random news station to be sure, but allegedly with the intent that the video would be shown, because that's what news stations do. Just a thought, anyway.
  • REAL6 · 2 years ago
    He's no Charles Manson!!!

If anything, American Society made him like this. Only in American. It just really shows you how fucked up this country is to the rest of the world. You never see this happen (school shootings) anywhere in the world but here. I WONDER WHY???
  • moopoint · 2 years ago
maybe school shootings happen only in america, but school violence is a problem WORLDWIDE. There are reports of murder through other means (not to mention assaults on fellow students and teachers) in other countries. Americans just don't seem to be as aware about it.

That feeling of loneliness and isolation can happen anywhere. People anywhere can be cruel and thoughtless to others regardless of what country you're from or what language you speak.

As to whether or not this video should have been available to the masses, there are good points for both sides, but it doesn't matter, because what's done is done and it can't be undone.

society did not make him a killer. We have choices in life. He choise to be a killer none made him that way. His a coward & cold blooded killer, im glad he killed himself so we didnt have to feed him in prison or mental hospital for years.. good ridons to BAD rubbish!

Cho Seung-Hui wants to be a martyr. By publishing this video you're granting him his wish. Maybe you don't see him as a martyr and hopefully most of the population doesn't, but publishing his video, his last declarations, you're giving him the credibility or the infamy he was looking for. Are you doing this to increase your traffic? Are you suddenly a political website? Anyone who posts his manifesto on their website should think long and hard about the impact it has on impressionable minds. I'm disappointed in you, Mashable. In this New Media world we live in, I respect freedom, but we all need to exercise responsibility. It's like displaying video of Nazi holocaust victim's deaths - it's irresponsible. It's wrong. It's the wrong lesson to be teaching. Why not put a little attention into the beauty that was destroyed? The lives taken. Brothers, sisters, nephews, sons, daughters, Lost to this hate. Shame on you Mashable.

"...it’s like displaying video of Nazi holocaust victim’s deaths -"

Precisely. That's exactly what was done after WWII in order to deal with what the Holcaust meant, and to seek solutions to the problems that gave rise to that madness.

Museums have been built to exhibit this information... it has not been hidden because it is widely understood that only by confronting madness can we hope to overcome it.

What is going on here is a debate between those who seek freedom FROM knowing and being responsible and those who seek freedom TO know and be responsible.
  • Taras · 2 years ago
I don't agree with you there.Do you think you can compare these 2 things?I don't think if some crazy people will come to a museum of holocaust and look at all those things from that time and think "hmm good old days!"and then go and start to build up the nazi organization again?Because this is exactly what that asian lunatic is intending to do - set an example for the rest and I quote "weak and helpless people".He wants to be seen as a martyr that has sacrificed his life(along with 32 other not guilty ones...)So I'm deeply dissapointed that this video got out...

"These children that come at you with knives, they are your children. You taught them. I didn't teach them. I just tried to help them stand up."

"I can't dislike you, but I will say this to you: you haven't got long before you are all going to kill yourselves, because you are all crazy. And you can project it back at me ... but I am only what lives inside each and every one of you."

"Mr. and Mrs. America - you are wrong. I am not the king of the jews nor am I a hippie cult leader. I am what you have made of me and the mad dog devil killer fiend leper is a reflection of your society. . . Whatever the outcome of this madness that you call a fair trial or Christian justice, you can know this: In my mind's eye my thoughts light fires in your cities."

"I don't think like you people. You people put importance on your lives. Well, my life has never been important to anyone..."

This tragedy in essence is due to a person with untreated prgressive mental health problems who was able to freely obtain firearms and ammunition. Broadcastng the video provides a clear demonstration of Cho Seung's state of mind. This will help people place the tragedy in context. Also it serves to underline both the current issue of how mental health problems are dealt with by the services, attitudes to such disorder in society at large and moreover the inadequacies in vetting for firearms access in the USA.

Cho is a perfect example of the kind of whiny pompous violent man-child that sadly enough seems to have worked it's way further and further into American culture. Listen closely to what he says. He's convinced himself that somehow he and his opinions are so special, that he even has some sort of self appointed divine right to decide who lives and who dies. According to him,if there's something wrong with the world it couldn't possibily be something that's lacking in himself, it must be the fault of those he sees as his "persecutors".
  • Sammy Smith · 2 years ago
[oops, I hit the send button a little early!]

Cho's refusal to participate in normal social encounters could be understood to be the result of his own arrogance and sense of personal entitlement to special treatment as much as it is evidence of a 'mental illness'. Note how at one point he protests the "debauchery" of American culture, while he engages in activities like capturing under desk images of young skirt wearing women, seemingly not willing to make a connection between the two concepts. Cho's actions should remind us that ultimately what promotes the creation of monsters like himself isn't much more than what instigates large scale disasters like the Iraq war. Selfish individuals who are so convicted to their own notions of right and wrong that they are willing to not only posture in order to heighten their own sense of self importance, but to also kill others in large numbers, as if to prove their own worth through murder. Cho is like Manson is one sense, they are people who are so caught up in their own half baked lies and child like sense of natural entitlement that the very lives of others become insignificant in comparison.

If it wasn't a gun it would of been bombs and more would be dead. IF he shot himself nobody would knew he existed even at Virginia Tech.

I saw no coverage of the people shot on the news. The coverage seemed morally negated. The parts of the story where there should of been compassion there was none. Him before and the people shot we never talked about in detail. What was done is ridicule of his tortured introversion and Autism and glorification of his explosion. Both his pain and that pain of the event was masked. The moral of the story was guns need more regulation? WOW.

If it wasn't a gun it would of been bombs.

Kinslayer, you are very observant. Not taking up for anything that happened, but maybe we should all learn and teach each other to respect "everyone" no matter what their status in life is. Keep in mind (at least me anyway) we've never heard of a true "hunter (fish, game, deer, etc)" falling apart and going on a rampage. They seem to work their frustrations off with a sport and they would be very handy to have around when the need arises.

Earlier it was mentioned that we need to give it to Jesus. Let him take care of it when the time comes. Wish the kid could have done that...it would have been much easier for everyone if he would have just left it in God's hands and considered going to work for IRS, becoming the Tax Auditor instead of a slayer.

It's all in God's hands now; even the way we act for the rest of our lives.
  • Jacqueline · 2 years ago
i hate that when ever a crime happens with a gun, people try to have stricter laws on guns. just because someone fucked up with one, doesnt mean the rest of us should suffer with stricter laws. even if they stopped making guns, people would still find a way to kill eachother. its not the weapon, or the ease of getting one, or the law, its the sick mother-f*ers that use them to commit murder or suicide. look at the people, not the weapon.

With all of this stuff that everyone is writing it is apparent to me more and more how screwed up

this country is with it's values and it's need to blame others for things they should blame

themselves about and then the claim that this (Fill ind the Bad Thing "BLANK") could and does only

happen in America. When in all actuallness it happens all over the world...

e.g. School shootings only happen in America:

This is a BOLD FACED LIE!!!! I remember about a year ago if even that long ago where terroris took

over a school in on of the former soviet block coutries. I remember the horror the whole world was in

when this happened (little kids running around in there underwear is not a pleasant site in any

country on any T.V. at dinnertime...) Well let's go back a year or two and remember when those

baddies took over a movie theater in Moscow with the soviets gassing the place out and then

subsequently killing every last one of the baddies in there theater seats while they slept... End of

    problem...

Every single day some butt head is blowing people up in Mosques, Street side cafes, town market

places, school houses and police stations and this is all done in the name of Allah. Does this make

it better? NO!!! But, not one single person is saying anything about how this does happen all over

the world and NOT just in America. We just put it out in the public forum a lot faster than other

countries do if the other countries even do. What I have noticed is that the only time the other

countries put the stuff on the airwaves it's so that they can blame America even if we as Americans

really have no culpability in it whatsoever...

This makes me sick and horrifies me even more than the original act. But, here we have an oppurtunity

to see what a person was thinking because he wants to tell us what he is telling us and I want to

know first hand frankly because I don't want someone else to condence it and then add there own

oppinion that happens to be editorializeing. I want the news WITHOUT someone elses slant I want the

FREAKING TRUTH and if I have to watch the stuff raw I will. So don't be sensoring on my behalf

because frankly I can make my own bloody decisions FAR FAR FAR beter than any of you can for me and

with that in mind I don't care how you percieve this stuff beyond the idea that I want the same

chance to make an informed rational and responsible decision about what is going on in the world

because I got all of the information uncut and most of all UNCENSORED!!!

Now go ahead back to your uninformed crying and moaning and don't worry us informed ones will go back

to making your decisions for you since that's how you like it... And, frankly your just not capable

of to making those informed decisions because you apparently are not qualified to do it yourself...

Oh and by the way you may as well go dig your grave and jump in and pile that dirt right back up on

top of you because frankly you all may as well admit to being dead because you certainly don't know

how to live your own lives and I'm frankly getting tired of carrying you...

    from Sammy:
"Selfish individuals who are so convicted to their own notions of right and wrong that they are willing to not only posture in order to heighten their own sense of self importance, but to also kill others in large numbers, as if to prove their own worth through murder."

I see the context in which this is offered, which claims a distiction between the causes of violence at the scale of the invasion and occupation of Iraq by the US and thge mass murders at VT, but I think that distinction is exactly what is in question when we consider the advent of mass killers like Manson and Cho.

In other words, I think it is exactly the selfish ethic so perfectly constructed in US culture that gives rise to both.

You can't have a self-professed illiterate like GW Bush, proud of his righteousness and ignorance, and without shame in his use of lethal force... or for that matter a Teddy Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Bill Clinton - you name it, they are the same in this respect across the board...

... you can't have a socio-political culture like this and avoid the occurance of individuals who adopt the ethic as a personal cross to bear... these sick minds are only using the most prominent model available to form their responses to severe and debilitating alienation.

This alienation is a well understood particular and corollary to modern society. Loss of community, loss of values (or substitution of individualistic and materialistic values for communitarian values), sharp divides betwen "haves" and "have-nots"...

All these in combination with the loud and proud chest-beating in front of secret torture prisons, mass killing by aerial bombardment and/or sanctions (with no remorse), the sustained campigns to erode concepts of freedom, liberty and self-responsibility... we are living in a petri dish infected by a strain of bacteria that guarantees the continuation of these types of atrocities in our midst, be they "macro" or "micro."

As Malcolm X said, the chicken always come home to roost.

I find this video highly disturbing. Although I am an adult, kids are able to access this website and at the very end of the tape where there is a picture of Cho pointing a gun to the camrea, that would scare kids, frightening them to go outside. It even scared me! Although people are curious to go to this website, and discover what the mass-killer was thinking in between shootings, I still believe that they should not have been willing to just show the whole tape. Or, even worse, to put it on myspace. That's just my opinion, though. =]

So far, the most Gary Null has had the most coherent commentary on this mass shooting. It is not about screening students or banning firearms. It is about the correlation between violence in our youth the the prescription of psychotropic drugs. Also, the gunmans behavior before the the shooting (stalking, threatening, etc.) is a criminal matter, and should have been dealt with in the criminal system. He should have been removed from campus, not sent to counceling within VT. If you look a the background of all the young shooters in these tragic cases, there were all either on zoloft, riddlin or another drug of this type. There is a connection and we need to explore this and expose the drug industry's involvement. Thank you for your time. KKP

    Angelic Possession

    Not A Massacre

    ---

    It Was A Spiritual Warning

The gunning down of 32 teachers and students at Virginia Tech was a spiritual warning for America. It was instigated by an entity that possessed the body of Cho Seung-Hu. The act of bloodshed was filled with symbolic information for subconscious impact. Its purpose was to shock Americans into turning away from the politics of warmongering, pain and suffering, and to turn, instead, to a path of unconditional love.

"The purpose of evil is to inspire all that is good!"

You should note that the timing of the Virginia killings coincided with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that same day to ban partial birth abortions, a ruling that many believe will be a first step toward reversing the controversial Roe vs. Wade ruling that makes abortions in the United States legal.

This ruling, by a court stacked by the Christian-oriented Bush Administration with ultra conservative judges, is "an assault against women in terms of psycho-sexual freedoms, choice and personal power."

Be warned that the stage is being set for a new wave of racial and sexual discrimination in America that is already beginning to be seen in the daily news. The Don Imus case is the most recent example.

The old battle of the sexes, pitting man against women, is always visible just before great world wars. "We are on the brink of social discord." These things foretell of World War III, which is a growing threat as world powers square off over issues in Iran.

The suicidal acts by 23-year-old Cho Seung-Hu, were sparked by the rejection of one, if not more than one woman. Police in Blacksburg, where the shooting occurred, said they investigated two separate stalking complaints against Cho by university women during his time at the school.

It was said that the first shooting incident involved the murder of a woman in one of the dormitories following an argument.

Among the many statements in his so-called manifesto, Cho said: "You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience. You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."

Artwork found in Cho's personal effects included delicate drawings of praying hands over a rose and a male angelic figure kissing a tearful female angel in the clouds. The female's face is turned away as she receives the kiss on her cheek. Both drawings symbolize a Christian influence, even though Cho denounced Christianity in his final video messages received at NBC headquarters on Wednesday.

Strangely, just as in the murders committed by Chicago's Christian serial killer John Wayne Gacy, this young man left 33 victims, one marking each year in the life of Jesus Christ. You should note that the news counts 32 victims, but Cho also took his own life, thus claiming the 33rd victim. That he identified himself as a sacrificial victim was significant. As a possessed young man, his life, indeed, was sacrificed by the entity as a means of delivering this powerful message.

Monday's tragic event at Virginia Tech has even more twists within its symbolic spiritual message.

At this time of year young men are experiencing a natural biological calling to sexual union because it is a time of the year when testosterone levels are raging through their bodies. This has often been referred to as the rites of spring, and are still celebrated in many countries with such events as a dance around a maypole and other pagan gatherings. The maypole, of course, represents the erect male penis.

Women of the world are called to be aware of the subtle power they possess over men, and to be sensitive to the vulnerability of the males at this time of the year.

"Women need to understand this power." Truth be told it is the power of the Kundalini, or that coiled force believed by some to be curled up in the back part of the root chakra at the base of the spine.

The symbol of the Kundalini is found in the Genesis story that tells of the serpent that tempts Eve in the Garden of Eden. It also can be found in images of the human DNA coil, as well as the medical symbol of the caduceus, or magic wand of the Greek god Hermes.

Cho slammed us all with a powerful message that should make us take a long look at the spiritual and political direction this nation is moving. The growing threat of expanding our military conflicts in the Middle East with an attack on Iran is one of the most deadly and spiritually troublesome things we could do.

Truth be said the choice for all of us, especially in choosing our next president, will be that of picking a leader that will be soft on war, or choosing another Christian warmonger like George W. Bush.

It will be a choice between hate and pain and suffering, or love.

A wrong choice will mean a global war. It will mean a return of the draft, and hundreds of thousands of young men and women of the same age group that perished in the Virginia shootings could be slaughtered on the battlefield. This is the probable penalty of choosing wrong.

There is one final symbolic mark to this affair that cannot be overlooked. There is a U. S. Senator representing the State of Virginia who offered public words of comfort on Monday after hearing of the shootings. His name is the same as Presidential candidate John Edwards, except he has a middle initial S in his name.

The appearance by Senator Edwards was a subconscious message to everyone that the presidential candidate by that name is the right choice if America wants a president that will be "soft on war" and lead the nation on a pathway of love.

"Edwards is our next to be in the office and he will stand for love when he is introduced to an Iranian wife bonding our two countries,"

"This is a message from God. It is a divine message of love verses ego and war. It is our choice in the next election."

"The whole thing is obvious enough that everyone can feel it."

i dont know where to start for a comment , when i watch taht video i see a person who is a tortured spirit driven mad by sociaty and religion ,i feel sad for him and the victims and that any of this happened , i also feel sad that the whole world has issues like this everyday , we dont here of it much becouase the media controls watch we watch , denies us the free content to see what is happerning in our world , its up to us to choose if we watch anything grapthic or not , but its up to us to learn and understand the world and whats going wrong in it, and we need to open our eyes and mass media isnt helping, the fact the world is blaming america for everything is showing to me the world is inventing a new devil to shrug of its own responcibility for its own actions , the world needs to start thinking as a gobal community if its gonna suvive and getting back to the current issue of cho , what can be done? is there anything that can be done? i dont know i have no answers to that , but i do know this , stop hating everyone and everything , hate only makes you bitter inside, lifes too short to hate all your life, if you wanna do somthing to help stop things like this happerning get out there off your deskchairs go out there and talk withthe global community to get the understanding of the world we live in , and then make and pass jugement on tragadies and media issues, and take action to change cultures into something more accetable to humanity,
now we as a world can either carry on , and fight like little children , or we can sit down talk about whats going on in teh world(as a global cummunity)and take it from there , thats what i think about cho , no hes not a martye but hes a good example of the many issues in the world that need to be corrected

Why don't we hear much talk about the whelp and bruise on Seung's forehead? Gee, I wonder where that came from? And if you'll notice in a later clip and pic, the bruise has healed slightly. Isn't it obvious? These videos are a diary of what has been happening to him over a period of time, not one day. This guy is pouring his heart out in this "manifesto" and some of you are still picking on him! You dirty dawgs! And another thing... Guns are not the issue here. Society is at fault. You have your popular social clubs in one corner, the not so popular social clubs in another corner, the "wanna-be" popular social clubs in yet another corner, and finally the few and alienated students being placed in the darkest corner of society. Guess who is the weakest and easiest to mess with? Yep, the ones who don't talk much and have tried their best to stay out of your way. But no, you have to keep messing with them, torturing them, making fun of them, everytime they try to be noticed you PIGS do something to bring them down further into an endless pit of darkness and loneliness. You should be ashamed of yourselves. When you finally cause one of these quiet sensitive people to explode in violence, you have the nerve to stand around with your jaw open and ask, "Why did he do that?" and make stupid remarks like, "He is a monster!" while trying to justify what you did to him earlier! But the truth is, it is the bullies of a vicious society who are the REAL monsters. Stop playing so coy and get a reality check. You know what you did. You bullies think you are so cool. 33 people are dead because of your own social disorders. How cool do you feel now?

Kuddos...Sparky; now you are starting to see the world. Did you look at the video that a group of students made of one of Cho's writings...Look up the list a litte further under Richard McBeef 2007-04-18 22:30:39 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMsWzlFF5_E and then enter the video. Then think about what CCN said about the "step-father" in the story being a Pedophile. The story actually reads as the "kid" in the story being a pompous ass, talked dirty, called the step-father all kinds of names, then the mother wouldn't even listen to the man; she "assumed" the kid was telling the truth. Then the step-father after repeatedly trying to explain hits the kid and a soul is lost.

It's easier to absorb looking at the video they made. I printed the story and they made the video verbatum, word for word from the story. It looks like Cho turned it around, but basically was maybe trying to say that it would not have mattered who he told about how he was being treated...because people listen and hear what they want too.

The truth is, we are not the judges...neither is the news media, but they reported the "truth"...they just altered it for a greater watch! Nothing in that story depicts the step-father as a Pedophile, it does depict the disrespectful kid, and a "blind" parent. Both making untrue and unfounded accusations! It is something to think about. Not justify...think!

OR MAYBE HE SEE'S THE WORLD THROUGH AN INSANE WINDOW THAT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. THERE FOR THE PLAYS YOUR DISECTING IS OF A SIMPLE MIND THAT SEEM OBVIOUS TO US. BUT BECAUSE HIS REALITY OR PECEPTION OF THE WORLD IS NOT OF SOUND MIND(HE DID KILL 32 PEOPLE)PERHAPS HIS EXPIRENCES THAT HE REFLECTS IN HIS PLAYS ARE NOT HOW A NORMAL PERSON WOULD REFLECT THEM. ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN SHORTLY. WHAT YOU MAY SEE AS UNCOMFORTABLE, MAY BE ABUSE TO AN INSANE PERSON. DO YOU REALLY TRUST THE VIEWS OF A MASS MURDER WHEN THEY LACK THE TALENT OF SELF OBVERSATION??????? AND NOT ONE DRUNK CURSE WORD.

    Question Marks...

"This didn't have to happen", Cho Seung-Hui said, after brutally murdering thirty-two people at Virginia Tech University.

And this terrible tragedy of sons, daughters, mothers and fathers didn't have to happen, if we'd only listened.

    But we never listen.

We never listen to those that are different from us- the outcasts, the lonely, the homeless, the ones that are unspoken for. We don't try to understand. We shun them and put them out of our minds because of our fear that we will become like them.

And these people become more and more lonely and alienated in their isolation.

Words like "creep", "deranged misfit" and "psycho" devalue this killer's humanity so we don't have to face how similar he is to us. Cries of "how could he have been stopped" are uttered by media quick to sensationalize and gain market share, when the words "how could he have been listened to" are never considered.

Because we don't want to listen.

We don't want to hear about loneliness and alienation when we're all so busy with our lives, making money and making friends. And the unpopular, the ones that don't fit in, the lonely ones are ignored or made fun of because we don't care to understand anything about them.

As a boy, Cho Seung-Hui "was picked on, pushed around and laughed at over his shyness" (Associated Press). When he started college, according to the Guardian, "his mother took his dormitory mates to one side to explain about her son's unusual character and implored them to help."

And he clearly needed help, devaluing himself so much that he called himself "Question Mark".

There are more "Question Marks" out there. There are millions of them. And if we don't listen to them, they will follow the same path again and again, because people are not connecting. We are becoming more and more disconnected from each other, creating more and more "Question Marks" every day.

Most "Question Marks" don't become murderers. Some just kill themselves. Most harm no one and live just as we do, needing antidepressants to appear what we call "normal". They may be someone you know, someone you love.

This "Question Mark" was once a little boy, who cried, and smiled and loved, He wanted to fit in just like you and I. But that desire to fit in transformed itself into anger towards a society that shunned and ignored him.

How many more times will we shun and ignore the one that doesn't fit in, the one in the corner, the one that's different? When all we have to do is listen, before it's too late.

    But we won't.

Thirty-two human beings who did not know Cho Seung-Hui were murdered.
They were sons, daughters, fathers and mothers, with dreams of futures that will never come and children that will never be born. The thirty-two leave behind people that love them. People that are now scarred for life by this horrible day of death.

To most of us that have not been directly involved, this tragedy will become a memory and fade like all the others that came before.

And the "Question Marks" will appear with more frequency, again and again, because we don't listen.

    We never do.

"I dont agree with Drew. There were 33 deaths that day, not 32. We should hear his story, and as a community, solve it so that this may never happen again."

Exactly... lets solve it. And lets start with racism and segregation in America. I am a person of color and I am so sick and tired of those who taunt and threaten minorities and the poor.

With that said, I can understand where Cho is coming from... when he singles out the rich and most likely (white). Now I know I will get shit for this, and thats okay. Because most of you do not see your people being taunted and killed just for being a different color in this day and age. Because it isn't publicized. Imus got shit for his comments, but there are so many other incidents no one is aware of.

My point is this. A person who is "mentally ill" snaps. This person is from this culture who sees the brutality but cannot walk away like thier counter-parts. They are not willing to turn the other cheek. Get my point? I turn the other cheek everyday. I think of the things that Cho thinks... but I would never "do it". Thats the difference. He is unable to walk away.

What do we do? Beats me... But I can assure you there will be more of the Chos. And he will be considered a "hero" among those who are sharpening their blades. A vigilante so to speak. I am not in agreement that this how justice should be carried out. But it is the only way to be heard in a world that is so "self absorbed"!

In retrospect, maybe the only way to get people to wake up and start RESPECTING EACH OTHER!!

    Sad way to do it...JMHO!!

I feel sorry for this young man who had to sacrfice his own life to make other people see his pain. it didnt have to come to something this drastic for people to see what they do to kids every day to make them feel like they are lower than normal society. cho felt like an outcast his whole life and everyone thought that it was a joke. i hate that he felt the need to destroy 32 different families lives so that people would see what they have done. this is a very unfortunate event. when you see the tapes you can feel the young mans pain. and somone brought attention to the bruise on his head it makes you wonder what the kids in college did to him. and the sad thing is you probaly will never know because no one is going to come foward and admit what they did to him. but those poeple have to live the rest of their lives knowing what they did and they have to feel the guilt of what they caused. unfortunatelty this probaly wont be the last school shooting and as a mother of three children i wonder if going to college or even high school is going to even be an option for them.v this day in age you cant even send your children to school or even let them play outside in fear of them getting shot by someone. everyone needs to stand up and quit being the bully of society and if you are one of the people who do bully kids go and tell them you are sorry make it right and maybe you will be the start of a whole new revolution. we as society can keep another situation like this from happening again.
  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
WONDERING SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. let me explain myself. i do not know what happen in his past. that is one of the reasons that what he did is 100% fucked up.perhaps he felt lost with know one to talk to. HUM, ME TO, THATS WHY IM PROBLEY TYPING TO YOU because if i chose his option, people like you whould have a problem.instead i choose to raise my 3 kids(2 boys and a girl, love em to death)to be confident. and prepare them for life so they can help and protect those who like yourself have raised scared children.which is the problem there are to many parents raising their children to not get involved because life is scary and they might get hurt. well if one of my kids get hurt or worse protecting your kids or atleast getting involved then i did my job. SO THERE IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH THIS FUCK FACE.NOBODY HELPED HIM BECAUSE YOU RAISE YOUR KIDS TO LOOK OR RUN AWAY. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

P.S I MEANT TO AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE WHOLE BULLIES SAYING IM SORRY THING. BUT QUIT WATCHING BARNEY WITH YOUR KIDS.
  • Abram730 · 2 years ago
I need to agree with you on the Barney thing...It's mindless fluff.

    PS:
The compassion for Cho you see comes from people with the spirit of Jesus. This doesn't make them religious. It just makes them ultra empathetic. That same spirit makes both the lion and the lamb. The empathetic comments are from lambs. The lion is a bit different. The lion is the protector of the lambs and has a short fuse for those that are naive. Families with this often are a family of individuals. It makes women more attractive and men introverted. almost all women in Hollywood have it. If people aim low morally or drift it actually causes clumsy behaver and accidents. Like Paris Hilton's car accidents. That is a sign for introversion as it will grow to fires. Often the person miraculously survives. Call it tough love. What Cho was lasing out against were people with the same spirit, yet that chose the most basic temptation, hedonism. He knew they were like him yet they hated him. That is why they are called sins. Women in this state of sin will loose they attraction to any man they infect. This intercellular protozoan sets the amygdala up in men to receive and in women to transmit. An autistic person can often do both and that is why they can't connect socially with people as they have one foot in another world. This allows people to just know write and wrong. Some people do the opposite and that is sin. This language is very privative as it is symbolic as other parts of the brain also have there DNA altered. The same communication can be interpreted differently in every person that hears it. What happened to Cho was more akin to a mixed up possession. I also heard what he seemed to reference. Yet he seemed to add so much importance to it that he thought himself Jesus. Often it is poor hygiene or low quality food or an improper diet that is the factor that causes schizophrenia's. See about half of the world has this and only problems if they are exposed during pregnancy.

Any person that has there eye opened can be possessed yet one can resist it. Cho amplified it. It is the emotion of rage and lust that can cause possession as they both bridge to the reptile hive mind. I'm not sure what sets that network up. I just know of the cat.

I do give credence to the Religious argument as I am aware of the same things and see it change the perceptions of people all over the world. The new thing people say when they are possessed by it is that and I quote "It's like we are living in a matrix".

here is an example of it person to person. He hypnotizes using suggestion from NLP and anchoring and the psychic part that I want you to see.

I can't believe that someone can be this cruel to people. Yes people get bullied and made fun of but it doesn't mean anyone has to take their anger out on shooting people.I think that since Columbine happened he wanted to copy and do the same thing.. now people are gonna be afraid of going to an out of state college because people like this will probably even make a worst massacre. I really hope nothing like this ever happens again, too many innocent people died!

  • Darren · 2 years ago
He will die, but he won't die for what he wanted to. Perception and circumstance are two different things. No one will ever understand, because at the end of the day - we had one massacre, in 1999, but what did we learn from that... nothing.

I know that what he did was wrong, but you can't just stop at that. It's ironic really. So many people want change, but aren't willing to do anything to change it.

I am fortunate enough to live in a society where this type of incident doesn't happen. I can't say that this is right, but quite frankly I can't understand why people are being so ignorant about it. Fair enough, what he did was completely and utterly wrong - but maybe if we gave him an opportunity to be heard... he wouldn't have done this.

In short, if you back someone into a corner, they're going to lash out. Some may commit suicide, some may commit acts of violence or crime and others... will do this.

    Dazzer

  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
what society is that of which you live considering you mention we more than once ,for instance "we had one massacre in 1999 and we didnt learn" i can only guess that you feel safe where you live and dont beleave it could happen there. i would guess thats how most people feel before thier own tragedy.as far as perception IT IS CIRCUMSTANCIAL CONSIDERING SOMEONE ELSE IN HIS SHOES MIGHT LOOK AT THEIR LIFE AND THINK HEY IM A SENIOR THE YEARS ALMOST OVER AND I HAVE A CHANCE TO DO WHAT FEW IN S.KOREA HAVE DONE. as far as being heard he never talked even given the chance in counceling he aparently didnt open up.once again heres someone finding blame in others. want a change take harder approach put a fist up and say if somethings wrong swallow your fucking pride and say something because i cant read everyones fucking mind and know what your problems are ive got my own. and maybe if the fucker drank a little of the vodka instead of preached about it he'd be alive today. hey i might be drunk but im alive. fuck him good riddence sorry for the others. P.S. IM CONFUSED BY YOUR QUOTE MEN ARE CHANGED BY EVENTS EVENTS ARE NOT CHANGED BY MEN.DIDNT YOU JUST SAY WE DIDNT LEARN ANYTHING FROM 1999. still an awsome quote though.

I just watched the video. Ive heard and read of other peoples opinion about what this guy did. I dont think he had any right or reasoning behind it. Maybe he thought so, maybe some of you thought so.
Im sick of people blaiming others for this happening. Saything that the teachers and students and others around him should have tried to get him help. That he didnt get the proper help he needed. What right does he have to unload bullets into as many people as possible because he was sick and upset? I dont think he had a personal grudge against each student that he killed or shot.
Its sick, nobody should glorify it. We should try to learn fromt this situation, but not blame eachother. He is the one that pulled the trigger. He is the one that let it get this far.
I hope the families and friends of the students that were injured or killed can heal from this without too much damage. I hope that anyone else that is out there thinking about doing something like this thinks twice and realizes that it doesnt just bring pain to the ones directly involoved. It brings pain to the whole nation, maybe even the whole world.

Watching that I learned absolutely nothing about why he committed this atrocity other than the fact he was a linatic. He killed "for his children"?! Compared himself to Christ? For all those playing devil's advocate for this scum, would you argue that what he went through was comparable to real suffering? He hardly had to live the hard life he would have faced back in Korea; he was hardly a survivor of the Holocaust (unlike one of his courageous victims). From what I read he made not one attempt to fit in, so he slaughtered innocents for their inability to deal with his black hole.

Read through all the comments, and I find it rather amusing. Didn't you realised that racism was one of the reason who drove the guy insane? Yet, I see people insulting each other's race. It is a very sad thing that certain people don't know how to respect other people even after all this things happening.

Instead of blaming and blaming, why don't we think about how we could have stop this from happening? It is very obvious that no matter how much we blame him, he is dead and burning in hell. Blaming him is not going to help stop these similar cases from happening again. Perhaps it is time we learn to respect other people's beliefs and races.

Please, lets not make these deaths just another statistic. I think it time the world did something to stop these mindless killings.

I must agree that no matter how he was tortured, killing all the people around he was just a way to attract attention. Therefore, he has no right to take other people's life with him. I believe that he is burning in hell at the moment as god will never forgive such a sinner. Then again, please remember, we are all equals. The bible says love everyone. Don't judge people by their race or colour, think about yourself before you judge others.
  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
i agree with you in every word. but there is blame and it is his. blaming him is not judging him. we use the word blame and get a negative responds, because it feels negative.in truth how can we move on and prevent this from happining again without understanding whos the cause (blame) why did he feel caused to do this.of course i will be the first to admit that im tossing stones, unfortionaly im tossing them at a courpse.

it wasn't entirely his fault. the students provoked him. taking someones life isn't an easy decision and im sure that he must have had a good reason to do it. I know how he feels cause i am made fun of everyday at school and it really sucks, and people can really be cruel and mean. They don't know how bad they are hurting peoples feelings and only care about themselves and being cool or in style. and then they finally realize their actions when it is to late. then the try to apologize when their lives are at stake, but it's to late. They try to be your friend when they know you can harm them and all you want to do is cause them as much pain as they caused you. You want pay back when someones does something mean to you. I'm guessing that's how he felt, misunderstood, hurt, lonely, isolated. then people are trying to make a racist thing about this, which is pretty childish, because we all are equal and only dumb, stupid people can't see that or accept it.

well, seems there has been enough comments written here so i will get to the point. it is tragic what has happened to innocent people that did not deserve this. it does disturb me a bit with everyone elses comments just for the fact, what are turning into? what great can we go by if we just step down to his level saying hateful things. thats all he wants is anger and frustration with everyone. honestly i havent even started researching this information until now. because who knows whats true or whats not these days. yes we have freedom in this country which we can be thankful for, but is it too much? it obviously is bieng abused and what does eveyone think will be done about it?? what can we do? the most intelligent way is to learn from this. know that bullying does drive a person into certain things that do not apply to normal living. thier minds do get messed up and most people do not seek help like counseling or any other source. hopefully we can learn from this and not have hate, because that will get us nowhere. i was extremely heartbroken when the breaking news came on. it was terrifying, then learning about this same video it makes people wonder... what if... there was respect for others. then innocent ones would not get harmed. my heart is crushed for these families out there dealing with the trauma. my prayers are with them to stay strong.

    one more thing...
this really bothers me but with everyone complaining and bickering on and on about this will be our most worst nightmare. this country will go mad! this world will go mad! if everyone reacts to this in hateful ways and not take too seriously and actually listen to his thoughts that he tried to get across then we are going to see more shootings. guaranteed.

Reading most of these comments is ridiculous and i actually feel more stupid. OPEN YOURE EARS EVERYONE!!!! No answer in this world is black and white... there are way too many shades of fuckin gray. I don't think most people are trying to justify what Cho did... no justification needed. Too many of you people contridict yourselves and are so narrow minded that its sad. Obviously Cho killed a lot of innocent people and affected many lives and in the long run this whole world, every action has an equal and opposite reaction... it's ABSOLUTLY horrible that it happened and Cho is def a asshole a lot of ppl would like to get their hands on. And some of them have every right to feel that way but not one person in this world can give a reason as to exactly why Cho was a crazy asshole, you are born heading in a certain direction and then you become a product of your enviornment that builds off itself. We don't know how he felt, we don't know what happened to him in his past and we don't know the way his mind worked. Lets leave heaven and hell and religion out of this and focus on science and the only half as facts that we have... if you do this you'll realize that yes the shootings were horrible and so incredibly sad for too many people and Cho got the short end of the stick in life and unfortunatly took a lot of other people down with him directly. But there are a lot of sick and fucked up people out there that do shit just as bad it just doesn't happen all at once like with Cho, prob some of you who if under different circumstances would nut up or break down or be a completely different person. So before we all speak too soon i think we should just take a fucking second and realize that the world is way to complicated to pass judgements on ANYTHING that we cant fully understand.. which is nothing. It just makes you look like an asshole and then it encourages a bunch of other naive assholes to shout out... So please just stop trying to argue and if youre going to post something don't close youre mind have a DISCUSSION about it, this is exactly the kind of tension that goes on between people that keeps our world apart.

We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, bullying dicks. And the excuse makers are pussies. And Cho Seung Hui is an asshole.

Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

Awesome, probably the most insightful comment I've come across - sad that we won't see it reflected/echoed in mainstream media.

  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
FIRST, YES WE DID STEAL THIS COUNTRY.( KIND OF) EVER WONDER HOW COLUMBUS (OR FOR SOME BELIEFS THERE WAS ANOTHER GUY I CANT REMEMBER HIS NAME)WONDER HOW YOU CAN FIRST DISCOVER AMERICA IF THE INDIANS WERE ALREADY HERE.AND SECOND, THE REASON AMERICA IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IS FOR THE REASON OF DIVERSITY. THERES KNOW EXCUSE FOR THE WEEK ASS WHO DID THIS. BUT BLAMING THOSE WHO ARE SUCCESSFUL IN ACHIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM IS UNACCEPTABLE, NOT TO MENTION JUST FUCKING RETARDED.THE AMERICAN DREAM STARTED OUTSIDE AMERICA.AND IM A WHITE AMERICAN BUT I AGREE IF THIS WAS A WHITE GUY IT WOULD BE A DIFFRENT SITUATION. BUT EVERYOTHER SITUATION IS A DIFFRENT SITUATION.
  • Chegreener · 2 years ago
    Kinslayer;

First off, you/we (I'm in Canada but that same self-serving mantra is mouthed by every Indian up here as well) did not STEAL this country from anyone. Our forefathers settled and established the basis on which North America has prospered for past and future generations. That prosperity includes all those Indians who now want the land back, or some kind of special concessions from the government of today based on their claim that they were the first here yesterday..... Ya, ok, well they need to get over it and move on; cuz the premise that ANY rights, entitlement or consideration should be accorded based on WHEN YOU (or your forefathers) ARRIVED in North America is retarded.

Second, ya, your absolutuely right - if it had been a white person who had committed this atrocity, the MEDIA reaction would have been VERY different. Indeed, every opportunistic leader within the black community (hello Jackson/Sharpton) would be screaming racism into every microphone within sight. A message which the media would be all too happy to legitimate and pass off as fact - instead of (as they are doing with the lunkheads targetting Asians because of Cho's actions) criticizing, and protraying as morons, those who play the race card in..... So to all those liberal/left fuckwads whining about a HANDFUL (AND THAT'S ALL IT IS) of meat-heads dumping on the Asian community because of Cho's action: SUCK IT UP!!! Your the same whiney bunch of lib/lefts who'd be curiously silent, ducking for cover, or apolgizing for being white, if it were Sharpton & Co. screaming racism had the VT shooter been white.

Alright Imus i agree . just kidding.the reason i said we "some what" stole it.is for example the seminole indians, who where the last pushed into reservations, were basicaly smoked out of the florida swamps. which in large part are still uninhabited still yet today. but conquering lands and nations is and has long been the way of history.and your right, what fire would we be dancing around tonight if it were not for our forefathers.and there is free land and special concessions, its called goverment housing and welfare. P.S HOW IN THE HELL DID WE GET ON THIS CONVERSATION .UH YEA SCREW CHO.

I agree that no one MADE him do this, but KINSLAYER, you seem to be talking out of your ass the majority of the time. Yes, he bought the gun. Yes, he plotted the massacre. Yes, he pulled the trigger. We can't say that he isn't the one to blame for this. He is. Perhaps, though, if people were more accepting of those different from us, less people would feel the need to get even in such a way. This boy was proven mentally ill. Those who experience full depression understand how hard it is to recover from it. Perhaps, Virginian law should be re-thought. Maybe there should be a waiting period.

Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at Cho, and while, yes, it is a sad issue, and it would be easier to sit around, and just blame him for the deaths of these people, let's think about this. Shouldn't we be sending encouraging words to families and friends and students from VA Tech? Shouldn't we try to help those who have been affected by this? Instead, here we sit sending out messages of rage and hate. Those are useless emotions. If you want to feel better send one of the people most affected by this tragedy a nice email. Do something to make them smile. The response for that will make you feel much better than the response you get for damning this boy's soul to hell.

I mean, who are you to decide what his punishment should be, anyways? You are not the higher power, whatever it is that you believe it to be. You are nothing more than a person. A person like the victims, the families, the friends, the students, even like Cho. He was a person as well. Whether you want to look at it from that point of view, is up to you, but seriously, consider what it was like from all sides of this tragic event before you make your judgments.
  • KINSLAYER · 2 years ago
MY ASS has something to say it seems. i agree with the encouragment to the families. but this is not a message board for the families, dear.and depression, oh i know it very well.but a waiting period would not have stopped him from buying a gun.but im pretty tired of my rants but here you go. (1)WHOM AM I TO JUDGE HIS PUNISHMENT? I DIDNT, HE CHOSE HIS OWN IN THIS WORLD. PERHAPS THATS WHY IM BITTER.AS FAR DAMNING HIS SOUL TO HELL. HE CAN FUCKING BURN!IF HE FITS THE REQUIRMENTS FOR HEAVEN THIS WORLD IS AS CLOSE AS I LIKE TO BE. ENJOY YOUR AFTER LIFE WITH HITLER AND CHO BABE.BUT I JUST DONT BELEAVE ILL HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT.AND YOUR FACT THAT HE WAS ALSO A PERSON IS NOT MUCH OF A FACT. MORE LIKE A FLAW. with that said, i actualy agree with alot of what you write, but you misunderstand me if you think i get anything from this other than my opinons and a harder approach.i will not see him as anything other than a mistake that was unleashed on innocent people.and obviously found a justification for it by his video. because he knew people would suck on his titty tape. theres others going through a tuff life and read some of this pitty shit and get inspired.they see your "he was a person" comments and get inspired. life is fucked up HE HAD OPTIONS!!!!!!!!! bla bla bla.

well ! a crime committed by a mentally and emotionally tortured pscycho - innocent people killed !!!

who's to blame ? no one knows !

point is everyone faces insults, bullying, cheating, lying - whatnot , at some point in life - these negative situations makes a person either strong or psycho !!!

so the strong person deals with future situations well and lives and lets live ...
but the psycho kills innocent beings to show that he couldn't deal with such situations - basically a coward !!!

gist of my point - people who kill innocent people are f*ckin' cowards - so not an inch of sympathy for such creatures - they should go to hell and burn there !!

Its sort of the courts fault he was suppost to go to some councilor for his mental disorder but they never followed through with that did they? Also they must have thought to monitor this kid after he was diagnosed with a mental disorder so if anyones to blam its them.

I guess in a picture perfect world you wouldn't have this. I think of it as the perfect storm, an accumulation of circumstance and perception - triggering a catastrophe. There's segregation amongst the people. He isn't a martyr, he's a soul tainted with poison.

As for the rest of it, if we can't unife ourselves, then we'll just escalate into chaos. Life's going to get worse - helping these people with their problems rather than treating them like the scum of the Earth - might ease the rift.

By all means, what he did was wrong - but it takes more than one man alone to do something like this. Life is ruled by circumstance and perception of circumstance.

i think the dude was just tortured. sometimes im at school and keeping to my self and an asshole will come to mess up my day. my reaction is primary and i forget very soon. however this problem of humanity destroying others(self esteem) for their popularity must stop. people are so wicked. if Cho was quiet, leave him alone. Don't mess with him because he doesn't want any fucking problems. This same reason has caused me to be involved in a lot of fights but i don't think it would go to the extent of shooting people. listen , I may beat them up but i will not shoot them.i have also been laughed at in school because of my deep voice and some people disrespect my family .

Holy crap... whats with all the first twenty posts about racism and such? his race had nothing to do with it! He was a psycho, to put it so bluntly. And people say he needed someone to talk to? All of his teachers tried to talk to him and tried to get him to counciling and he also refused to engage in conversation with people. True, he may have been bullied or made fun of more than the average person, but that in NO WAY justifies the unbeleivable amount of pain he caused on these people and their families... most of those people he'd never even met. And whats all that crap he said about do you know all these kinds of pains? and then listed them or whatever.. like getting slit from ear to ear. NO, i don't know that pain and neither did he. He was a genuinely disturbed and phsychotic individual who caused much pain to innocent people. I live about 2o min from VT and a ton of people i knew knew the victims and its heartbreaking.
