    considering a large portion of your readers are from, what we like to call in the business 'non-america', why would we want to use the news app? I can't see the relevance to someone in New Zealand or even Turkey.

    Just because mashable readers (tech nerds) aren't interested in it doesn't mean facebook users (average college students) won't be.

    Listen. facebook, is exactly what they said it was. It's a means of interacting with people; even if that means sharing drunk photos with each other. It wasn't meant to be a means of political intrusion. It's a website with nothing political to do about it. Yet, political parties bully their way in. Fact of the matter is....according to number of voters per election term....the majority of this country doesnt give a shit about politics.....
