    Interesting... thing is though - are just your "friends" the best people to ask when trying to find a product to buy? I trust one of my friends for digital camera recommedations, but wouldn't even dream of asking him about what car or bottle of wine to buy..

    This is on the right track, but Philip is right, the winning solution will have to be based on how influential the source is on the social network related to the product I want to buy. Finding out which sources is the influencer's of the products will tip any company targeting this emerging industry. I think I'm loosing my balance, because soon, everyone is going to get blipd!

    http://www.yub.com/ is a social network that seems to have stagnated (no proof, just a feel) but has been oriented around products for a while. All are right.

    you need a way to accrue credibility within a product area so that your influence is maximized, all while not taking away from the other functions of the social networking site itself.

    Why do the teachers and principal block out fun websites that we like to get on because after we do our work we should be able to get on bebo or myspace,or facebook thats all i have to say and thats why school is boring now?
