    Two thumbs down.

It strikes me as going against everything they've tried to build with their brand.

This is when we know that LinkedIn is desperate and out of ideas. I mean..what the heck have they been doing all this time, when all other networking sites are taking away their potential users...creating LinkedIn store? Are they serious about competing? Well, time is ticking for LinkedIn. Too Bad.

Actually the idea of a linkedin store isn't that bad, but they should offer business cards and stuff instead of leisure gear.

Great, Naomi Klein would have effing kittens with this. "Corporate-networking-cum-social site does new line in gaudy, low-quality knitwear ready for the forthcoming festive season. Please link with us for connections to Asian Sub-Continent sweatshops that we [definitely do not] source our goods from".

Its bad enough that we have to put up with "Tom is not my Friend" T-shirts (although maybe that is because he is five years older than his profile says and thus is the poster boy for the net-stalking generation with his 150m so-called "friends") or the new london craze in "Can i POKE you?" T-shirts i received by email flyer this morning.

Now a bunch of fifty-something execs are expected to rip off the business suit to reveal the truly limited scope of their web2.0 networking credentials. Maybe its just Monday - but bring back the Rolodex, all is forgiven...
