That GasApp is not useful. How are you supposed to just know which zip code you are in wherever you are, except for home (in which case, you're not going to need it all that much).

Though not technically an IM applications, I did show iSilk (http://www.iPhoneWebDev.com/iSilk) which is an open source ajax-based chat applications that is optimized for the iPhone UI. In particular it works very well in both portrait and landscape orientation, and has a lot of lessons to offer the developers of social software and synchronous applications.

Yeah from user standpoint, Gas.app is horrific. Doesn't safe ZIP, and like mentioned above, searching by ZIP isn't that helpful. What's up with the slow number pad too? Not too responsive.

I demoed an app I've been working on as well: http://www.iphogo.com, unfortunately server went down for a few hours :p

Let me know what you think

I was disappointed with the iPhone's feed reader and found Google Reader's font way too small to read on the iPhone's screen, so I wrote my own feed parsing tool specifically for use on the iPhone. It tries to format feed text & images to make them readable without needing to zoom. Check it out at http://www.530pm.com/iPhone There are some example links on the homepage. To view your own feeds through the reader simply add the feed to the URL like this example using Gizmodo - www.530pm.com/iphone?feed=http://feeds.gawker.c...

    Hi,
    http://iphonegamedirectory.com
I've spent a tremendous amount of time building this site and making it EDGE friendly (i.e. the game listings pop up in 2 to 3 seconds as opposed to minutes). Now I'm trying to get the word out. I want this to be the be-all, end-all of game and app listings. Please add your links into the list.
    Thanks,
    -James

MoviesApp is pretty useful, they're all useful, but I don't know if I'd use any of them that often to be totally honest.

Okay, I'm confused. These are great apps, but how do I download them to the phone? Forgive me for being a moron, but this is NOT intuitively obvious as tech people seem to think.

I found this cool app for the iPhone that streams some video and audio podcasts to your iPhone, it also seems to work pretty decent over EDGE.. check out http://mvstreamer.mobi for iPhone video streaming
