Good point. Bulk e-mail marketers (spammers), not to mention competing companies, would be very happy with such data, correct and relevant. What will happen if this servise is shut down (or sold), like it happened with several other services? What is someone steals the data?

Sounds similar to the newer plaxo.... btw: I might be dense, but you mentioned that you could keep track of ur social network users. Where is that exactly? I didn't see facebook or linkedin listed...

I'll stick with SocialMinder.
I hope my friends never use Zentact. Do I really need to receive useless links from my friends because the web page that they happen to be browsing has content that I might be interested in?
This approach misses out on the concept of frequency, and that these Zentact-types of emails are only of interest if they show up infrequently.

This looks really promising and solves a problem that has been bothering me since I became fully involved in social networking. But it would be a lot better if it would pull out your Facebook and Myspace contacts automatically to add to your address book, not just your email account address books. It would save a lot of work pulling each of those contacts out one by one.

This looks very interesting...but it will only work right now with FireFox? Will sign-up anyway. I like the idea of being prompted...it is currently hard to remember who is interested in what from which social network when I find something interesting.

hmm, if I wouldn't think of them straight away, what's the probability that they're useful contacts. To me it sound like promoting Google Adwords as it "promotes relevant sites to the site you're surfing right now". Only added with some social network bla bla. But I might be to harsh

I think it's the fact that it prompts you ... most of my LinkedIn contacts are people I've met once, if at all. I wouldn't think to reach out to them typically, but Zentact creates an opportunity to further those relationships with relevant reminders.

huh, I don't see the point? You get another toolbar that stores all you private data (http://zentact.com/privacy) and the only thing it does is remind you of something you already know (that X likes Flyfishing). Maybe I should try the service first, but from the looks of it, the story really isn't compelling to me.

uh, nice idea BUT you want me to give this tiny company ALL of my contacts, all of their contact data and add rich contextual and private information to it????

they have got to put out a hand-signed agreement and they will need to mail it to me, notarized, before i consider using this kind of service ;)
