With reference to the first point; journalists like to discover and nurture stories (then attack them when they're at their zenith). Which is fair enough, really. Finding out that the story has been going on without you must be rather disheartening.

With reference to the second, Murdoch is a bit of a popular villain here in the UK, particularly among the liberal left. Any opportunity to attack is welcomed.

None of the above detracts from what you say about Bebo and its success, of course.

i THINK The story of Bebo catching MySpace was made up by Bebo's PR people.

The May ComScore numbers for the UK came out this week. They showed MySpace increased its unique users at twice the rate that Bebo did. There is a good report that Nielsen Net Ratings did last month - it actually shows that Bebo was much bigger than MySpace in the UK a year ago - MySpace came from behind and is now well in the lead.

i'm on both bebo and myspace and bebo is easier and funnier. Myspace is far to complicated y page is still blank while in bebo me and my friends are connecting much faster and it's far more enjoyable. Even though they use the same concept and same audience.

But what the hell is the point of Bebo. They don't even seem to know themselves. Read the help - why you should join Bebo. "Coz U should coz it's great." Social networking sites are inhabited by 98% 12-year-olds and 2% stalkers. Why the hell do I want a whiteboard that other people can use? Sorry, I'm too busy having a life right now. whatever really..bebo is ok, but its bassically something for slones. #people of the streets use myspace. its hardcore, explicit and generally a land for the people who have something good to say. If bebo was tat great, then why do some of the best bands in the uk at this moment in time have mysapce accounts. If tony blair knew how to use a computer;he would definitely have bebo. Kids, your teachers are smart people. You should know this.

Now the reason you cannot access bebo in school is because they know you'll try and log on instead of concentrating on your lesson. So they installed this thing called parental control to block certain sites. Including bebo - gutted :(

I suppose you'll just have to learn instead. Start by learning to type in english and not in "txt" language.

you can access bebo on a blocked comp by going to google and typin in proxy.. then click on the result which should be proxy server and into that type bebo! this should override any blockage your school or work put on your space! Adios Amigos..

Er, am i missing something here? you all want bebo unblocked at school so you can talk to your mates, em, isn't that what the playgrounds for??? why don't you go to their houses, talk to them on the phone, play sports. Learn to communicate and interact with them face to face. In the long run it will help cut teenage obesity, social reclusiveness and teenage suicide, and with any luck stop the decline in spoken and written english and the rise of unnecessary 'txt speak'.

If you want to get onto a site that is blocked search anonymizer in google and go from there.
