Porn on FriendFeed was long overdue. There's going to be freaks that just flood the thing with porn at some point...
Also, will Friendfeed face the same pressure to clean up their act that Yahoo did for the amount of filthy groups that proliferated that service? Ning has also been slammed because of their vast amount of adult-related social networks on their service.
In any event, that's more about censorship and appeasing the moral majority without aggravating the general public who wants the freedom to express themselves. The original point of this post is about self-policing and watching what you share with the world, even when you think it's private.
Just assume nothing is ever private.
As he explained in various comments back on FF, he favourited this stuff deliberately in the knowledge that it would stir the amusement of at least a few people and provide a welcome diversion from all the political discussion. The stuff wasn't favourited months/years ago as suggested...the dates that go on the favourites are when the video was first uploaded, not when it was added to someone's favourites list.
It's just unfortunate that he decided to do this during the issues with Vimeo and Youtube, and so everyone assumed that he would be embarrassed by it.
O
If your article was about Soulhuntre's shares in particular, then I'm afraid it was posted in error.
There were, however one or two other people who DID have some potentially embarrassing YouTube favourites appear in their stream. That is not the fault of FriendFeed, YouTube or anyone but the user whose favourites it is. They were foolish enough to favourite items on a service that they were sharing publicly on friendfeed, and they have nobody to blame but themselves for any consequences that might have arisen out of their internet behaviour.
here as proof are the links to soulhuntre's posts, with his accompanying explanations in the comments...

I see this more as a positive aspect than negative. Long may little secrets be exposed.

Ummm. So why does anyone want to us this?
There's already enought to worry about online. No need for additional complications.
