This is pretty interesting....i hadn't seen it, and just had far too much fun making it - and will use it. You can actually make a mego that looks quite mature/non-flashy.
This could be very popular (for those who love flashy crap, but also for the more serious types who actually want to use it.)

Alana - just got to know you pretty well without leaving the widget. An embedded video player right in there, etc. Who is that kid playing the guitar on your youtube feed?

Seriously, the fact that all this content is viewable right within the widget seems to be a strong advantage of mego over the simple 'business card 2.0'
