Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2008/08/06/rejaw/

    I approve of Rejaw.

In fact, I like Rejaw a lot better than Twitter, but please, change the name to something much more memorable, the weird startup name is getting utterly old, very fast.

I agree EJ. And the design is funky, too. But I think it's a great start. My review of it, for those who are curious, is at http://shortn.it/sIB0

I think we may soon see the Twitter killer come out if Ev and the boys can't turn things around asap.

But this is built in Ruby, too. Will it crash in a week?

I'm guessing the Mac client is coming first because they plan to launch an iPhone app next and can share that development. Makes sense.

I like rejaw but I still thin twitter is better.

I don't know why, but this awfully smells like paid review or something.

Lol. Yea, I know what you mean. I do think I might have been a tad too nice about them, huh? I rarely do such a positive tooth-achy sweet review. I will do me best to balance it more. In hindsite I would've ripped them more, especially about the name of the site as EJRaven pointed out. It will be hard for the name to catch on like twitter/tweet. Even Plurk is more fun to say. I think a good name should be able to go from a noun to a verb.

Good review. One drawback I see to Rejaw is that with the 1000 character maximum, and the ability to embed media, people won't be able to get their shouts via mobile phone like they can with Twitter. This won't be a problem for me, because I don't get my tweets on a mobile phone, but I have friends who do. Also, I will be glad when the Rejaw Radar for Windows is launched...it will be very useful to me.

So far I like it. Anything is better than Twitter & Plurk!

I really like it so far - but unless they figure out the block feature, it has the potential to turn into troll heaven.

I got 4 whispers in a row in my inbox yesterday from someone I don't know. No way to delete, no way to keep from getting.
That's going to be a HUGE Achille's Heel.

I agree this might be the only drawback, I like this one but still love twitter, too.

It is ALPHA so you can only expect there to be lots of bugs & issues...... I say wait it out a few updates before starting to complain.

    Pai,

You're being too easy on these folks. :)

Rejaw isn't exactly a Twitter cloan; it's more of Pownce clone. It still doesn't have the stream feeling that Twitter gives me. Like others, I'm not sure it's got a place at this point in time.

Rejaw might do better if they can hold onto whatever share they can grasp right now and hope Twitter and others go by the way side. It hasn't brought anything significant to the table to date that would make me drop any service in favor of Rejaw.

Now if this had a coo, and perhaps nonlinear interface, say with spokes, bubbles, and slides, that would be something. Hey wait...

At any rate, your review has got people talking. Good job.

Neither is http://beta.goofy2.com YATC. I have submitted G2 for your review and it is kind of similiar to Rejaw.
    Check it out please
