It looks nice, but I think it's difficult to make one site to please everyone ... and we all know that with so many sites out there, that unless a site is close to pleasing everyone, it's never going to reach a critical mass.

The interesting thing about Twitter is that they kept the core super simple, and this simplicity made it both important and simple for people to develop a whole range of mashups using the service. When a site has already done a lot of the work it's less important and more difficult. People also come up with inventive solutions for the shortcomings i.e. hashtags/@tags to add tagging and threading like funcionality.

And Twitter also got a critical mass in terms of integration with other services. So you can leave photo uploading to sites that specialize in and are good at that, for example. So from that perspective Twitter is a competitor to Streem.us and Tumblr.

Sites like Streem.us are just creating isolated places for me to have yet another content store and network. Did someone say social media fatigue? :-)

I enjoyed the design for 30 seconds and then I became sick to my stomach. Overwhelming.

Usually the idea when you copy a site or service is to improve on it. I haven't seen that here.

streem doesnt yet let you import feeds, which tumblr does and is an attractive feature to a lot of people. i'm sure that will come in time though.
