I use Yahoo Widgets for the single fact that they have a "widget layer" similar to Mac OSX. I can hide them and not have them cluttering my desktop. Vista only provides me a sidebar or floating widgets.

Yahoo suffers the same problem as other Widget developers. None of them are 'killer apps' or must-haves. They're just conveniences, and people can live without them. Also, browsing the directories is a huge time-waster with zillions of duplicates and more annoyingly, "Countdown" widgets that are not removed after they expire.
