Good news for imeem..but the damage seems to have been done. Most popular songs on there are only in "preview" mode now, which only plays 30 seconds of each song rather than the whole clip..that was the single appeal of the site: full on demand music.

Imeem's expansion is refreshing. Imeem confirmed that EMI Group has agreed to allow users to upload and share their EMI content.
Joining imeem alongside the likes of Sony BMG and Warner Music, EMI’s addition now represents the securing of three of the industry’s ‘big four’ music labels – only Universal remains and is presently in talks with the site regarding its inclusion. It also represents a notable swing in getting major industry players to license personal and public song usage in a different way.

Social media network Imeem has acquired Snocap, a digital rights and content management technology company. The site already uses Snocap technology to identify tracks that users upload, determine whether content owners allow full streaming, and manage payments to musicians and labels. Artists and labels who allow their music to be streamed share in Imeem's advertising revenue.
