Oh, and I chose Facebook for the following reason:
Although there's always room for improvement (and plenty of user complaints) on any Web 2.0 site, Facebook seems to actively listen and respond to the demands of its consumers. From Facebook Chat to the ability to deny all application requests at once, Zuckerberg is really on top of his game.
Facebook is not perfect, by any means, but it is undeniably driving the way in which we connect through the Internetz.

My favorite social network is the one I have with the physical world. There is no replacement for rich, two way communication between two people...So how do you get rich, two way communication on the Internet - use Skype with video.
As video cams become better integrated in the phone and cheaper to use on the mobile, video chat will dominate all social networks.

I like Digg because it always has a smattering of news from a variety of sectors. My fav is tech, but do enjoy some of the oddball stories that appear there too! Since time is such a premium these days, I let the overzealous diggers do there thing and then just sit back and read my feed! Thanks in advance for the opportunity to attend this event.

Since the event is a marketing event, I'm framing my response in terms of demographics:
Tween/Teen/Young Adult -- MySpace.com -- Because that's where I can connect with people like me.
College/Young Adult/Adult -- Facebook.com -- Because that's where I can connect with people like me.
Young Professional/Professional -- LinkedIn.com -- Because that's where I can connect with people like me.
Seniors -- The local coffee shop -- Because that's where I can connect with people like me.

My fave social network site is Facebook. (creative choice, right?). It allows me to stay connected with folks I know offline. And also I've gained exposure to some cool things through the feed, from people I know offline and a few friends I don't actually know (including Adam Hirsch) but have friended in order to see what they're reading and learning (and promoting).

My favorite social network is the Crestline, CA post office. If I walk in without makeup, send thick envelopes off to various far away places with impossibly spelled names (or heaven forfend, with non-English notes on the envelope), or fail to hold the door for one of the town's more elderly citizens, not only will everyone in town know about it by day's end, but you can bet your bippy someone will call me out for it on MySpace or Facebook. Thus proving that the web is amazing, but nothing beats the gossip power of twenty old ladies over the age of seventy.

My favorite social network (yes, I will start this out like a 7th grade school paper) is the Internet. Social networks will come and go, MySpace is a prime example of this, but will remain the original Social Network - the Internet. From the days of 2-d Chat like "The Palace" (ok I am dating myself), and IRS chat in the old days - there network of online people have always found a way to communicate in a social manner, and therefore the vast wide web and will forever be (whichever form it may take, Facebook, Twitter, ...) my favorite Social Network.

My favorite is MyBlogLog because it let's me see which other members have come by to read my blog, without the reader really needing to take any action other than to be signed in. If I win the ticket, my transportation will be my own two legs. This venue is on the block next to my apartment.

Tribe.net! While MySpace is my musician newsletter substitute and Facebook is a swarm of vague acquaintances' creepy engagement announcements, Tribe is a testament to the relevance and usefulness of the hyper-targeted niche social network. Its features have even adapted to fit the needs of the Burning Man community. Niche social networks allow us to link up with likeminded weirdos- people run profiles for their dogs, animated avatars and cars; I'm happy to run one for my freaky Burning Man alter-ego. And in turn, it feeds me information about underground parties, art events and sales on purple fur chaps.

I would say the bar down the street from my apartment is my favorite social network becuase I can both have a drink and socialize at the same time. If someone asked "Hey, whatcha doing tonight" and the person answered "Drinking and poking girls on Facebook" you would probobly say that person was being 'anti-social'... therefore I believe that until normal adult behavior is fully accepted on a social network that the best social networks are not online.
I am a graphic designer and I love beautiful sites like this one.
Also its a great social networking tool because of all the social sites I'm a part of like Facebook, Myspace etc. I feel like I don't truly know these "friends". But with Flickr seeing my friends pictures I get a glimpse of whats going on with their lives. Whether its a new baby, a recent party or self portrait. A picture really is worth a million words!

Although Facebook has really been able to construct and innovative and effective advertising platform(s) through users own self expression options, it is interesting to see what will become of LInkedin, especially when they begin to connect with more companies and entities across the web like with Businessweek, and more and more people begin to find them as a legitimate staffing resource. Both are innovative companies that really helped push social networking to get more professional and targeted, to which they both must be commended, but in order to continue to be a viable resource you have to PUSH information to your users as well as connect them. Otherwise your culture remains dormant and you become extinct.
Right now LinkedIn is my favorite website for the way they provide me with connections and information.

My fave is Friendster.
WTF, you say?
Friendster was the first social network to gain mass popularity and without it, copycats like MySpace and Facebook wouldn't have spawned. It fostered the Kevin Rose business model.
So what if I haven't logged on in several years because all the friend requests are from people I don't know from the Philippines and Indonesia?
Now Friendster is now copying the feature sets of it's original copy cats, isn't it ironic?
