There's no doubt social sites and the internet will be a valuable tool for future politics and influential figures alike, and Obama will only be the first to tap into its power.

I was under the impression that Obama would have very little Internet/Email access during his tenure. Does it matter to the American public if they think he's the one doing it or one of his aides is posting his updates? I think the White House should be putting these updates and information on the web, but I don't think they should be doing it under the pretense that it's really Barack Obama.

Allison - totally agree. I'm not a fan of these political emails that come from Obama, Hillary, McCain, or whoever when in reality it's just from their communications ppl

Hopefully they update Twitter shortly ... they have the most followers of anyone at 30K+ and I'm sure these folks would love to hear some Obama noise
